Been a hell of a month, hasn't it?

But, we're all still here, which is good.

I'm glad you're all still here with me, still reading, still enjoying.

It's funny, one of the hardest things to do is not get sidetracked on secondary stories for too long. I mean, I'd love to write an ENTIRE novel about Crashrider, do some more survival horror/post-apocalyptic stuff with Dambree, exploring dark secrets of pre-Mantid Attack TerraSol, more stuff with Dee Taynee, and more and more.

I was talking about things with my wife, while waiting for my daughter to have her abdominal surgery, and she told me to just roll with it. This is my thing now. This is what I do and she loves watching me write and see me smiling after I post.

She told me to not to worry about reaching the end of the Second Precursor War, that there are plenty of stories to write that are in my head. I mean, what were the Ring Wars and why did they happen? I mean, there's so much we just glance at, that's mentioned the side, that I'd love to keep writing.

Remember, it's the Terran Confederacy of Aligned Systems not one coherent government running all the systems. Like it stated, the Confederacy "Does not care" how a system or planet runs its world as long as they abide by a few rules, which means that there are a LOT of different kinds of governments, a lot of different kinds of worlds out there. The biggest one is the "Right of Free Movement" which means that people are allowed to leave a system and a system cannot make any laws preventing it.

Which means there are complete dystopias out there, post apocalyptic worlds out there.

The thing that amazes the Mantid, Treana'ad, and the others, is that the Utopian Worlds have a very low static population, most of the population is transient.

But that's for another chapter, which will expose something that will shock one of our longest known characters.

I for one will eagerly read all you provide about this universe. I'm looking forward to side stories and lore!

^ seconded -- personally I'd be totally happy for this to just become an unending collection of loosely-connected short stories all set in this universe. My favorite scifi books of all time are Isaac Asimov's short story collections. And IMO this universe is even more fertile for stories (obviously it's standing on the shoulders of giants, but still.) The green mantids are so awesome. Still my favorite moment of the series: "Can we handle the engineering department? I don't know Terry, do you think you can handle walking around saying "hurr" and breaking things?"

Once I finish the main story that's what I"m going to do. Just short stories, novellas, and some stand alone stuff that fleshes out more, contradicts other stuff (because there's just something wrong with the universe so that two contradictory things can happen and both be true), and introduces fun stuff. There's a LOT of stories I want to tell.
