Far off from any major settlement, an expedition skulks beneath the canopies of an unknown forest, fraught with endless opportunity for ambush. The trees here are thinner than most, but ominously tall, spaced apart and overtaking the soil in a tangle of knotted roots. A grizzled older man covered head to toe in crude makeshift armor, signals for the others to approach. That's when the steady pace of heavy footsteps boom ever-closer; awakening a swarm of worm-like creatures from the branching underearth below.

Outsteps a towering abomination, referred to as a "Barbed Stiltwalker" by the old man. It lumbers through the woods, carefully treading the chaotic landscape, but oblivious to the encroaching worm things. If it was not obvious before, it is soon made apparent to all, as to why such a fiend is named the Barbed Stiltwalker. As the creatures begin to wrap themselves around the man-lengthed shins, they are wounded by the razor spikes dotted along its exterior. Before they can safely flee to their root warrens, the Stiltwalker catches one, tearing it to pieces with its hands and teeth.

Meanwhile, the people continue to quietly watch on, until the armored man moves forward to let out a call. Though he remains out of view, the Stiltwalker turns towards his direction and approaches. The others struggle from retreating out of fear, until a hard snap catches a leg of the titan. A well-placed, well-hidden line of strengthened material, trips the abomination to a slow falling crash. Without a second's hesitation, the man leaps out to deliver a few muscle-backed strikes to the cranium, and the thing is no more.

After some moments of discussion, a lesson or two of trapmaking and stealth; the man concludes today's lesson in giant slaying, then immediately begins to plan the locale of their next hunt.
