This would include demi/semi humans (and even some humanoid races).

There would be a  lot more opportunity to get these made.

- Heroes (PCs)

- Villagers/NPCs

- Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, Halflings, Drow other Fey

- Dragonborne, Orcs, Goblins, Gith, Gnolls, Illithid, etc

I think this is a good way to do a themed section, like Villagers, OR include a single different human figure as a monthly release. Like for the upcoming "forest theme" offer an elf/elves, and then if you do a mountain theme, then do dwarves, or tieflings during a hellscape option. You can include humans, but it would be best if they fit a theme

Anonymous

I think Orcs, Goblins, Gith, Gnolls, Illithid all belong in the Expeditionist tier...but I would love to see another expeditionist style tier that covers just heroes, npcs, and other hero type characters...

Anonymous

I’d prefer that there was a single Patreon with some different tiers for different sets/themes. At the base level you get a smattering of the themes, upgrade to get several models from a single theme, maybe the large models each month rotate themes, etc. Having to subscribe to multiple Patreons is less likely for me, personally, and also I think hurts discoverability for products.

Grey 0815

That is an interesting question. When I joined I thought more of non-humanoid monsters, but monstrous races like orcs are monsters, too. I can understand that people would like to get more of them. Personally I voted YES as there are soooo many other patreons making humanoid minis and I am here for the non-humanoid monsters.

Anonymous

Humanoids are monsters too. They are in the monster manual with the "more monstrous" looking creatures. Perhaps a separate

Anonymous

...patreon for hero/PC races.

Anonymous

Admittedly, I joined for the minis - I figured there would be all sorts of different things, like you said. A unit of town guard, for example, seems entirely reasonable in that context. I didn't join explicitly for "monster minis", though I can see where the appeal might be. Plus, in a purely selfish way, I don't have th ebudget to subscribe to a second patreon at the same tier. As others have suggested, adjusting the tiers might make more sense, though unlike kickstarter it's tough to offer a "this or that" through Patreon.

Anonymous

If a separate Patreon would mean the creation of more minis (especially of the type mentioned in the poll), then I'm all for it as long as they would be available for purchase from your store. I'm not certain I would be able to be a patron of both it and the current Patreon, but I would love to see more items from you. The ability to print such detailed minis without having to worry about cleaning up supports is really great, and I thank you for it!

Anonymous

I personally think the collection on miniatures I have got in the last several months are amazing, I have thought though, I kinda wish they would do a hero themed month from time to time. I love the monsters but I feel that at a certain point, say if you have released 300+ monsters to patreon that has a huge DND following, a month or 2 for hero miniatures would be amazing.

Anonymous

I'd love to get more humanoid minis, but I don't want to have to manage another Patreon's files. I already find it confusing enough as it is sorting through the messages and whatnot that have the files for the month.

Anonymous

If Patreon worked better I’d say it should be tier based, but afaik Patreon doesn’t handle pick and choose tiers (ie choose heroes and giants) or add-ons unless you make a tier for every combination and that gets confusing. So begrudgingly, the way Patreon works a second Patreon is probably the least bad way to do it. (Patreon does a lot of things well, but some parts of their setup are wtf bad).

Nicholas

Why exclude them? Too many patreons already out there (patreon fatigue). If they are done well then I'd hate to see them excluded. A general theme gives flexibility to your design choices. I doubt a whole ton of supporters are only on a single 3d printing miniature patreon. If an increase in monthly miniature volume is being considered, then either up the output (gift increase in models received for existing tiers) or add more price tiers.

Michael Warren

I voted yes only because you said there is a lot more opportunity to get these made. I think it comes down to what makes sense for you all from a business stand point. Some people don't want to subscribe to multiple Patreons, but if bringing these type of minis into this Patreon will hurt the monster mini production then I would rather it just be two separate Patreons.

Anonymous

Don't think humans, elves or dwarves need to be made at all. TONS of them out there. Now other rarer races..... Sure. They fit the theme and the demand.

Adam

I'm starting to get Patreon Fatigue as Nicholas described above so I voted no with the hope that they will start to be included more in here. Maybe put them up to vote on with a shorter list of candidates or do NPCs and the like every 3 months or so and no monsters.

Tyler Hurst

I don’t think another Patreon should be necessary. As far as I’ve seen the Patreon’s are themed by genre more than whether there are humanoids or not among the files or not. If we, as a community, choose or don’t choose to vote on a humanoid npc option then that’s our prerogative but I’d like it to be an option here rather than having to pay for a whole new Patreon just for those options. Also, I agree with what has already been said. A humanoid themed month would also fill this role just as easily.

Anonymous

I would rather have some months with heroes/commoners/scenery here, instead of monsters. It is better because variety means longevity. At least for me :)

Anonymous

I do not understand the question

Grey 0815

I value your opinion but I completely disagree. This is a monster mini patreon not a heroes / commoner / scenery patreon. :)

Anonymous

This is a hard (sorta weird actually) question. I would assume most people would prefer to just get more minis in THIS patreon. Obviously, I don't know how realistic that is financially for you guys, but adding an additional "human" mini or two every month would likely be the best option for the current customers.

Grey 0815

Maybe weekly / monthly / irregular packs with humanoid monsters / heroes / npcs / townfolk would be an idea? I for one wouldn't appreciate a humanoid month as has been proposed as this will be a lost month for me. Pausing a month with the current pricing structure would mean loosing my founder bonus, which doesn't make this easier. Still think you should stick to monsters in a monster mini patreon. An occasional humanoid is ok, an all humanoid month not so much...

Anonymous

I agree with some of the above comments, maybe we could alternate between monsters/ humanoids monthly or something like that and still be able to vote for the type (group of minis) of both monsters/ humanoids. I know there are a lot of other humanoid minis out there but they don’t look like your style so for gaming and painting purposes I would like to see your take on these classics

rocketpiggames

Would optional weekly sets (in the store) of Heroes/NPCs be the best way to go for most of you?

Anonymous

I don't mind humanoid monsters but I have a lot less interest in PC/NPC models. I can get those on Hero Forge. Though the odd one here and there isn't a big deal to me.

Anonymous

Easy: no, they don't. A well made mix or theme should be the best approach, with voting systems for each months (as already done or improved).

Anonymous

I'm here for the monster minis for the most part. That being said, I think monstrous humanoids fit in quite well with that theme. I'm not a huge fan of the idea of incorporating hero/npc models on here, but I wouldn't be opposed to it as long as it doesn't eclipse the amazing monster sculpts you guys make

Joe Kushner

Funds only go so far. The Necromancer this month was great. I'd be happy with similar iconic figures.

Anonymous

I'd hate to lose a chance to see beast races and stuff in here (like many others, absolutely loved the Necromancer). But an over abundance of them wouldn't be great either, as I prefer the monsters. I definitely wouldn't want to need another patreon to pick up things like the necromancer or the Archangel

Anonymous

I vote for more humans

Anonymous

I really like your monster minis, good supportless minis aren't made by too many. Ones I can use for my players in that format are practically non-existent. If you start another patreon for that, I can only afford so much every month. I will probably take a few steps down on this one and fund that one instead.

Anonymous

I don't think I'd be able to afford another separate Patreon just for humanoids. Although I would *love* to get a hold of some more because I have a very limited collection of basic characters, NPC's, townsfolk, etc (and not the cartoon looking kind). I subbed to this Patreon due to the cool Monsters not even thinking that it would never have basic stuff. So there's a possiblity that if a different one was started I *may* move my sub. It would be tough though because this one has so much cool stuff!

Scott Chisholm

Unlike some here, I could afford another Patreon, but I don't really "need" PC/NPC minis. I game in 15mm, and when I'm able to wrestle the printer from my son, I print RPG mins at 50-70% to use with my metal minis. Having said that, I really like the Stouthearted Hero minis, but they are a bit too "cartoony" for my gaming. PC/NPC minis sculpted in the vein of the monster minis could be fun, and I'd most likely support them however they became available.

Anonymous

From an economic perspective more it would be nice to not have to pay for another Patreon. However, i do understand man hours=money. I like the idea of another tier added to this Patreon for these types of minis. I voted no, but I may be persuaded.

Noah Sager

No, because I’m a bit Patreon fatigued.

Anonymous

I would rather see this as part of a kickstarter or directly in your store with a Patreon discount... as an alternative or additional weekly set maybe?

Anonymous

I think a better question is, do those things belong in this Patreon. I think this one is presented as/looks like a monster themed patreon. It's in the banner. Like many others, I'm already looking at needing to trim my patreons down. If you did a seperate one, I'd probably switch my support month to month depending on what's on each one. Or maybe continually support one and look out for kickstarters like your upcoming one. I do think there is a demand for supportless humanoids. That might be a better thing for a kickstarter. Maybe tiers/addons for different races, or groups of types/classes with mixed races (even in a patreon, that's probably a good way to go, groups of things instead of 4 or 5 mixed.)

Anonymous

Just to distill this down to kind of a summary as I see it: 1) this is a monster Patreon currently, so hijacking monster content for human/elf/dwarf content is not the way to go. 2) thus: “humans” belong as a different purchase bucket. 3) a new Patreon wouldn’t cheat people here... I mean if you don’t want the humans, don’t sub for them. 4) a kickstarter or purchase packs for humans also work, but that doesn’t give RPG subscription revenue to work on them. Also a KS is a different beast more suited to large grandiose releases and backlog purchases all at once than a recurring release flow. 5) perhaps the fairest idea would be a second Patreon, but with cross Patreon discounted purchase of a la carte items from the other so that if you wanted it all you could join both patreons, and if you wanted monsters but some of the humans you could get a discount on buying the current month’s humans for being a monster Patreon and vice versa. 6) kinda needs to be said. Personal content/Patreon fatigue is not itself a good reason for RPGs to not create more content. There are people here that would buy into both, and there are also people out there that would buy into humans and not monsters. The question should be more about how to fairly structure it than if they should create more content or not. The decision to create this content or not is really if RPG thinks there is enough total market to make it profitable or not. A hero Patreon *could* be profitable even if no one here wanted it or subscribed to it. (That said I think this audience is a big chunk of their potential target market, so RPG would be foolish to completely disregard the comments here, which I’m sure is why they asked). Point being: if 35% here say they’d support a second Patreon, that might be enough for RPG to consider it profitable to do it... so don’t think of this as a “majority wins” poll. My $0.02. FWIW: I would maybe sub both, and if not likely buy some of the content a la carte... I’m always looking for printables, and happen to favor the chibi/cartoony style.

Personally I joined the several RPG patreons for the monsters. While I REALLY love the Death Haven stuff, the main patreon has so far a more subdued feel. Otherworld or Outerworld don't remember now, lol, had a great concept for monsters as well as alien races and such. So I feel a separate one for the more "Mini" side of things would make more sense. I think the question would have been better to say "Mini's" vs "Monsters". When I hear Monsters I'm thinking 2-5 or more times the size of a standard mini for 28-32mm base gaming. A good example is the Death Haven stuff, I love that I sometimes get a "Boss" size monster and normal size variants. It allows me to have a hoard of lesser creatures that my group fights before hitting up the Queen. For the main RPG Patreon, I have enjoyed it so far, being a 2 month new member, however I personally would even like this to be more monster focused on "Monsters" in a more general aspect. Anyway that's my $0.02. hehe.

Anonymous

I personally would have more value for humanoids I would want lots of. Hero's NPCs are more one offs. And I can buy a figure of. What I can't really do is buy dozens of townsfolks, pesents, soldiers,

Anonymous

Echoing a few others, I'm here for the monster minis. I enjoy the humanoid monsters, but I'd rather HeroForge the heros/townsfolk. If you did want to do something involving, those, I'd be most likely to get enticed by a weekly set.

Michael

I guess for me it comes down to what size monster would it fill..delux if it's super high quality?or could it be more on the lower side of things?

Anonymous

Voted for a separate Patreon, but looks like it may go the other way.. so... maybe there can be an extra pledge tier for people interested in PCs/NPCs? Personally I think non-human NPCs are very hard to come by and would fill a nice niche...

Anonymous

I'm a total newbie here, but I think some supportless humanoids would be awesome, and I personally would definitely sign up for a separate patreon dedicated to that. Thanks for your awesome work!

I don't think I'd support a second patreon, because of my own cash flow. I keep wanting to upgrade here, and backing off (especially with the prospect of losing the founder status). If you do start another patreon - or perhaps even with the Dark Havens one (sorry if I screwed up the name) - offering cross-patreon discounts would help. For example, letting members of individual patreons use the discount codes for purchasing items from the other patreons. This would certainly be more work in terms of coding your store, and of course you'd have to decide if the money worked. Disclaimer: I don't actually have a 3d printer yet; I'm looking at moving in the next 6months to a year, and I don't want to add a whole 'nother system+supplies to move. (Bad enough I have to have at least one extra room as it is for my books/boardgames/gaming stuff, nvm a dining room to have a big enough table to game on.) It's the prospect of 'supportless printing', which implies a WHOLE lot about the printing process to me, that keeps me here and makes me want your stuff. That said, I have a few decades' worth of metal figurines to paint, and I've gotten a bunch of resin cast stuff off KS and figuring out how to clean them for painting is daunting - whole new skill set. Ok, looking up, not sure how relevant this is, but figured it might be useful in understanding at least one person's viewpoint.

If Patreon offered a few more features we could do more flexible things...hopefully someday! When we put percentage off coupons up, you can usually use those on anything 😉

I'd go in for a sci-fi patreon
