Burchill = Julie Burchill, a conservative, early ragebait writer who's written for the Times, Mail and Guardian, and built a brand on the kind of kneejerk, formless contrarianism that passed for radicalism in the 80s and 90s. She seems to have been semi-retired for the past decade (mercifully, because god, would she be a factory for the most noxious takes imaginable right now), but is a byword for a certain kind of shitty journalism for people of my generation here in the UK
