Would you believe that our old friend Alexandra Pelosi has released her second film about January 6th in less than a year? In THE INSURRECTIONIST NEXT DOOR (2023), our favorite scion tries to find "common ground" with some of the rioters who breached the Capitol... and ends up making the same movie she always makes. Finally got to this ep while listening through my podcast inbox backlog, the boys discussing another Pelosi doc is always an opportunity to fill the bathtub and light some candles. (I also attended the Broadbent talk at the TO reference library the other day, great discussion from all involved & further depressing to think what we could've had if the NDP fared better electorally before the dawn of the neoliberal era)

Out of curiosity, I looked up Ed Broadbent on the NFB site to see if there were any docs focusing on him or the post-Tommy Douglas NDP, and came up with this film about another Ed... could make for a good future ep on evergreen Toronto topics re: urban development and the loss of spaces for working-class folks (not to mention Suspect Video). https://www.nfb.ca/film/theres-no-place-like-this-place-anyplace/
