I think the real “politics, what a concept” related to this movie is the Simpsons episode “Mr Lisa Goes to Washington.” Lisa witnesses corruption and writes a speech about it, but then the President takes action because “a little girl is losing faith in democracy!” and she’s ashamed she wrote it. I realize it’s a comedy show but the message relayed, in Lisa’s words no less, was “the system works.” Infuriating!

The ending of “Mr Lisa Goes to Washington” is supposed to be a joke and poke fun at how unbelievable the idea that any one in Washington would care about corruption. A clearer message that would further representative of the the writer, George Meyer, is the on the nose fat cats and pigs eating from money trouphs.

You boys should watch the bizarre 30s right wing political fantasy Gabriel Over the White House.
