((Kyle is in the Guardian Tier. One of the rewards is to have your name in a book.))

William 10:06 AM:
Hey Kyle, mind if I use you as a bad guy in MM3? :D

Kyle 5:56 PM: Do your worst. Or best? Being bad is tricky...

<blink>

-Suggestions welcome on how we can make Kyle a -great- villain. :D-

Added a brief explanation. Kyle is in the Guardian Tier. One of the rewards is being in the book. He asked me to do my worst. So we shall.

MechaBlerd

Looking forward to this new villain.

Always fun to get a chance at being "red shirted"

David Morrissey

Hummmm, when did he develop the compulsion to destroy the eyes of his victims before they die? .... And being careless enough that a few lived maimed, till me finds them to finish it

Anonymous

Give him the power of hugs or love, like being stuck in the friend zone.

Anonymous

An easy way would be guild leaders of the 2 remaining guilds. MM 2 is fuzzy but i dont think they died yet. Theres that dhampir girl that could have a background with kyle, since she didnt want her race known and they seem rare.. Kyle could be a retaliation from the guild but from another city? Finally of course theres a possible war with the elves. Military invasions are prime time for war crimes.

Oooh!! Have Kyle be an Elf badass that gets totally pwn'd! … But not by Rene, by one or more of Rene's "Jewels", and totally by accident! (Like having Pinky dump a vase of old wilted flowers out the window, her hands slip, and the vase crashes down on Kyle's head.) Having his Elven housewife do it would be too obvious. ;P

Now I have an image of will sitting there with crazed look thinking of horrible things to do to Kyle lol

Avoid Shisnos

A moral crusader someone who can only see the world in absolute good or absolute bad no inbetween a well intentioned extremeist if u will

Eric Hontz

Fair warning. Kong's sycophants are gonna come out of the wood work if you use Kyle for a villain.

WilliamDArand

Kyle is a nice and common name, it'll be fine. And it's the person's real name. I'll also be adding his actual last name, too, and a description. :)

Jason Little

Well since it's MM and the races are mixed but there's alot of racism maybe make him be like a really nasty tax collector who thinks different races should be taxed at different rates depending on how offensive they are? Then they get him by falsifying some family register to show he's a mix of several races after his new tax law passes?

Nukin Futs

Not sure if i got this right, Kyle wants the worse which would be a great villain. How about a vampire? Haven't seen a male one, snide haughty little blood-mage? Rene's first encounter with a actual para. Doesn't appear as anything truly threatening. But the danger sense is near oppressive at first. This person doesn't just want to kill Rene, but wants to consume him, his very soul. The Monster can sense his Monster's Thirst. Nonviolent encounter would be impressively cool, imo, a "how 'bout them apples " scene with Shirley no less, to instigate Kyle further? Did i understand the prompt correctly?

I'm all for being surprised. Not sure what id enjoy more between the levels of some knock off dick dastardly joke villain or a villain thats more serious and sinister.

Kenneth Darlin

He should feast on the meat from baby toes..as in small child, not small toes...

Samuel Chesser

Have him be the thing that kills one of the wives or makes Rene lose something emotionally valuable like maybe killing his sister and father maybe the mother and make him a friend first

Anonymous

Not sure how to make Kyle a badass bad guy since I dont know the context. But make him do something that makes Rene want to torturer him to death on a BDSM X-Cross. Like say he provided the unwilling entertainment at that sex dungeon that Rene found in MM2. Has to have irony in his demise.

Anonymous

He loves Rene’s monster side and likes to punch walls

Anonymous

Easy way out... Make him kill one of the students

Anonymous

Have him be the author of attacks on children. There is NOTHING more vile.

Anonymous

Instead of making him a "bad guy" make him a Antagonist. Make him a good guy that Rene can't kill or corrupt as Mask that for some reason is out to get either Rene or Mask or even both. To make it even better maybe he's a new teacher who's really helping the students or a old friend of his dad's here to help Rene be safe but has a very strict lawful good paladin view on good and evil causing problems for Rene. Someone he can't just kill.

Anonymous

Dumb thought coming from ideas. Because why not. Make him a somewhat serious villain in love with the monster side of Rene, maybe a monster of some kind himself that is trying to bring it out even more in Rene and does things to push him to that. But have him do dumb things occasionally like punch a hole in a wall when he gets mad. Again though I'm all for being surprised, and I still haven't decided if I want your best or your worst yet. Maybe Kyle needs a secretary for when he gets indecisive.

Such a good sport.... Maybe a gender ambiguous villain? Like one that can change their sex on command like the doppelgangers? Have a running joke that he may or may not have had sex with the mc, all the way up till he dies when he literally takes the final blow or strike up the gluten-free cup.

Drew Risch

The best villains have sympathetic goals. You can understand why they are doing what they’re doing, making them not so much bad guys, as much as just guys with different goals. This is especially effective in, my opinion, if the bad guys goals and actions aren’t straight evil themselves, but justifiable. For example, from someone else’s perspective, Gus may be a bad guy because he can mind rape people and kills people regularly. But, we know why guys does that and we sympathize. So turn that around and have your villain be the same way, just a guy who’s doing what he has to, to do what he thinks is right.

P M

Hmmmmm... The answer points to itself. Is it a major villain or a minor one? Would it be worse to be a disgusting villain that no one could stand? A loli racist homophobic slave trading irredeemable icon? Maybe a non memorable bit part insignificant mention in passing? Be careful what you wish for? The paw only had 2 fingers left...

(Kinda wordy but mainly my thoughts overall and answer to some posts) As far as saying looking forward to a surprise i mostly mean I won't push to much into the creative process. I trust William to do his thing as he always does, and even before guardian was a thing I've supported only to support a person who I think should have all the room possible financially to follow through on his stories. Being added to a book in any context is just a cool bonus to me. I'm all for being surprised by what he pulls off. I'll admit I have personal thoughts on what kind of villain or bad guy I'd prefer to be represented but I won't seriously push the thought as I think it would be more than what I feel this character should be (some form of 1 book throw away villain). If I had a solid choice of being in any book as a bad guy it would be a llose play on a joker-meets-aizen character. He's a bad guy. Not blatantly evil but more like doing things that way because he views it as the most efficient way to get what he wants. At the same time he would be thrilled to have found an opponent in the MC so it wouldn't be a completely hostile relationship on his end, viewing it more of a push for him to be better and push the MC to be better as well, potentially to the detriment of those who he believes holds the MC back.

J B

Make him Metzger's mentor, come to visit, and have Billings offer him a position when she meets him. Renee has no say in anything but finance, after all...

Alternate idea for the villain: something along the lines of Krager from David Edding's Sparhawk series: 6 of the best Fantasy novels I've ever read. Krager is a low-level alcoholic scum-bag villain willing to sell out anyone to save his hide...or is he?

Alex Lindsay

In my opinion the “worst” villain is someone you both despise/hate AND fear. Make Kyle some one who is a nearly untouchable or hidden criminal master mind who also gets off on torturing people both mentally and physically. Someone truly Evil.

Alex Lindsay

If by “worst” you mean most cringe worthy then make him an obnoxious idiot antagonist who some how keeps coming through unscathed but thinks himself a genius.

Alex Lindsay

I really like Edding’s stories also. I read the Belgariad way back in ‘85. Really enjoyed it and bought all his books as they came out.

James Domec

The worst villains are the zealots with no grasp on reality. The best are the ones that you almost completely agree with.

Jameric

It cant be any worse then where I found my name in your book, purely coincidental I think, but ouch. Joseph Horne. Monsters Mercy seems great......wait....oh nooooo.
