Finally getting started! I'll document the process here and there.
The main difference of the new Chicken will mainly be felt through the rigging of course but art is the first step.

I'm still in the process of fully shading every asset but for now a few things on the art have changed. (Keep in mind it's not fully done and more stuff will be added or cannot be seen prior to rigging)

  • I stylized the overall proportions a bit more.
  • I knew I wanted to keep the pose as it was and keep the style of the face the same aside from some re-sizing
  • brighter colors
  • improved lineart quality
  • FEETS

I will also be adding significantly more (and less broken) expressions and likely a separate wing pose. Also very excited to get to rigging and add more perspective to it.

The old chicken rig was my first Live2D project so it's not too surprising that art and rigging quality isn't really holding up anymore but I still like it in its own dorky way. It simply needs an update! Which is why I'm keeping a lot from OG chicken. On first glance it may almost look identical but once rigging starts it'll come together. But so far I'm satisfied with the touch-ups.

Back to it I go!
