Being a botanist and having had lived in Japan just a small note: What you filmed here is Eriobotrya japonica, or biwa in Japanese. In May we can buy these delicious fruits here in germany for a very short Periode of time - although not as good as in Japan, I hate to miss them. The first contact was biwa ice cream in Kyoto. *dreaming* Kaki or Diospyros kaki on the other hand is even from a different plant family as compared to biwa - and that’s the persimmons you spoke of, I suppose. (No idea what biwa may be in English).
