I totally dig this. THAT... is discipline. Back in my army days there were certain rituals and practices that we executed on a daily basis, mostly in the way of saluting "this", acknowledging "that", marching "here", not taking a shortcut "there", and following procedures... At times you were alone. Nobody would ever see. Nobody would ever know. But the point of discipline was to do the things you knew you needed to do without anyone watching or telling you to. A pilot knows, I'm sure. No fooling around. Got to do that pre-flight check, and a host of other things. And you do them because that's how it's got to be done. End of discussion. A disciplined society is a functional society. Love it!
