It's funny, This Place Will Become Your Tomb was and remains quite a divisive album among long-time Sleep Token fans. A lot of people found it too soft (including me when it first dropped) and wanted more of the heavy elements - even though as your listen-through demonstrates Sundowning isn't exactly littered with unambiguously heavy moments. They're very sparing. Once it gets its teeth in you though... damn. I think it's also why some people say that Will's Hypnosis cover is better than the original, because he adds a lot more heavy vocals. But Vessel uses them sparingly for a reason. I'd never noticed the KoRn comparison with Like That, but I do fucking love me some Issues-era KoRn and I really really enjoy Like That. Oh, btw ii is pronounced "two", we're pretty sure. Totally back the idea of some Loathe listen-throughs, I Let It In And It Took Everything is an album that absolutely rewards listening to the whole way through

Starting reaction now but just wanna add how special Telomeres was when most fans got to it. First song they had that included a solo so it took a lot of people back in a really good way. That track really gives ne Diamond Eyes-era vibes by Deftones, specifically the song 976-Evil on that particular record. People aren’t as fond with this project probably due to it not being as dynamic as their works before this, but there is tons to really gather from it the longer you sit with the layering of production and musicianship, lyrics, and just more understanding of the flow, the vision, and mood they were striving for on this record. I personally really love it
