I made this little thing to try improve eye reflection. Its a small mesh i made in Blender which covers the cornea area and uses a sphere shaped normal map for the reflection. Its imported as a cloth item so its easy to enable or disable it on looks. Its not super realistic but perhaps gives the eyes a bit more life. You can make the reflection look a bit more realistic by tuning down "Specular Bumpiness" to around 0.650 which makes the normal map a bit flatter and more in line with the shape of the eye.

Ive tested it on the default VAM character as well as on some of my looks. There could be issues with larger/smaller eye sizes than normal.

To install just place the Custom folder from the download in your VAM directory. The item is called "Iris Reflection" in the cloth section in VAM.

TIP: This item will need some tweaking depending on your model. For example, if the reflections clip through the eyelid when the character blinks, you can use the morph "Eyeball Depth" for example, and set it to slightly negative (like 0.10 or so) until it doesnt clip anymore.

I've had some issues with the wet skin i was working on but ill try to fix them. But if i dont think its good enough quality to release ill just dump that project and move on to other more interesting things. :P

Hey Nice Work as always =) How do i apply the eyes? i tried it in the eyes section where you can apply the textures but they looked wierd... what am i doing wrong?

Thanks! This item is in the clothes section. :) Its called "Iris Reflection" and just tick it on like any other cloth. Depending on your model, it will need some tweaking to look good. For example, if it "clips" through when the character blinks, i suggest you use a morph called "Eyeball Depth" and set it to something around -0.10. You can search morphs by name in the morphs section.

Oh my, the thing is so simple but the difference is huge!
