Pinup series is go!

Saw the Super Mario Bros Movie Friday afternoon. As a movie I give it a 6/10. Pacing was way fast with stuff happening for the sake of moving the plot forward and things forgotten along the way. As a huge fan of Mario, though, it was a lot of fun seeing the numerous Mario and Nintendo references littered throughout the film. I really enjoyed seeing those. Ultimately the movie met my expectations when going in. I wish they could have done better with the story, but I don't think Illumination was the studio who could do it. Regardless, I'm sure the finished film is exactly what they set out to make, and the very much succeeded in it: a kids film traversing the tightrope of getting Nintendo's approval over every aspect so as not to offend them. A very inoffensive film.
