Binged through Bocchi the Rock over the past few days. It was cute! But also made me incredibly depressed at the same time. The humor was on point and I enjoyed how it had fun with its animation. Good show.

I've been also watching Revolutionary Girl Utena while I walk on the treadmill, where I walk uphill for an episode's length to get the heart going. That's a show I really should've checked out sooner than kicking it down the road for 16-ish years. Does great mixing together melodramatic shoujo tropes with deadpan humor. It'll bring up these ridiculous scenarios but play them very straight without winking to the viewer going "Isn't this so wacky and dumb ha ha!" Like seeing a Shakespearean trained actor being given a mop with googly eyes and told "in this scene the mop has cheated on you for a bucket of water," and the actor gives it their 110% and performs a heart-wrenching performance.
