Finally started watching Steven Universe. I've been enjoying it a lot. There's constant references and random stuff thrown about from shit when I was growing up. The warp whistle from Mario 3 made an appearance, Steven had a figure of fucking Gitaroo Man of all things, and there was a character design that suspiciously looked like Frog from Chrono Trigger. I'm constantly pulling the Leonardo DiCaprio in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood meme while watching it. Fun stuff.

I wasn't super into the character designs at the start, especially when put over the gorgeous backgrounds, but they've grown on me. One thing I especially find amusing is the weird expressions they love to have the characters make, model sheet be damned. Only issue there is that the show isn't "cartoony" enough to me for it, compared to something like OK KO. Even so, it's fun.

Season one is fucking long as hell, though! What's up with that? Over 50 episodes while every other season only has like 20 something. Usually it's the other way around with early seasons having a few and then upping the episode count later. Was there a reason for it? Is it technically two seasons that they decided to just call one?

Regardless, it's a lot of fun. It's for kids, but all the throwbacks and references is very much for the young millennial crowd.

I know it'll never happen in canon but I love this trope

oh, fascinating. That's Kevin but if he were a girl. As if wearing the bodysuit for too long molded the guest as if it were a mold. I want to see if Kevin girl has more chest than when he wears Miranda's bodysuit or is it a more modest bust like Madison's.

Oh, so that's what's going on there 😄 I couldn't understand it at first, why under the female bodysuit, was surprised girl, who thinks was a boy before 🤣

MI_Malecki

The chest's fine. Besides specialist in big boobs resides on DA and also makes TG stuff.

I hadn't seen it like that. That she was a girl who takes off her mask and that she thinks that she has always been a girl, believing that her whole life as a guy is nothing more than a figment of her imagination.

AnneCD88

Oh. I thought you meant, that Kevin wore the suit so long, that his mind became one with the girl, and after he takes the mask off, his mind only slowly comes back, thinking "oh yeah, I guess I am a a boy after all, almost forgot"

polonsus

That could be if the Bodysuit has a mind and identity of its own, and the only thing that would happen would be that Kevin wearing the Bodysuit over time would synchronize with Doris, to the point where Kevin completely forgot who he was before. But, if that happens, he would not remember that he is wearing a Bodysuit and therefore would not need to remove the mask. Unless a very strong memory from her previous life as Kevin manifested, Doris would be in complete control and would embrace that identity more firmly as time went on.

Ooh, girl Kevin's looking pretty cute

finally goes to take it off *stuck zip from lack of use*

Oh I was kinda expecting Doris's face under the mask with the black and white

Waiting for this to be the surprise twist after the current arc of Kevin wearing the suit for half a year.
