Continuing my adventures of looking at what to do for a vacation. Couple weeks back I watched these videos on overnight trains in Japan, which reminded me that we have those in the US through Amtrak. Plus there's a station near me, so I wouldn't have to go out of my way to get to a station either. Of course all I really want to do in regards to that is ride the train and relax/enjoy the view. When looking at booking tickets there didn't seem to be an option to immediately u-turn and go back. I think the best way to go about it was to just stay a night at whatever location, then take the train the next day and go home.

So anyway, the cheapest rooms on the train to Chicago was like $500+. Nope. Too much for my blood.

Ah well.

Yep, figured that Angela would get mad at Kevin for not telling Elaine about Doris Over $500 for the cheapest room? Yikes...

I've considered going on a sightseeing "train tour" in the US because I really like trains, but I've read so many bad things about Amtrak it turned me off the notion.

If you can afford a roomett, and the delays, Amtrak is really not a bad way to travel. I go from my home town in Central California, to St Louis, or Chicago every year. Three different routes and the all offer some of the best scenery in the world.
