Good news, everyone! Bojack Horseman returns...early! I think this may be the earliest I've gotten the next season of something out. I know a lot of you have already watched S4 and are patiently waiting - so hopefully this is a nice suprise!

Some nice callbacks this season. Like the fact the set looking like "David Boreanaz's" house, which is when Todd lied to make money. Also crazy how immediately you guessed that Bojack would have trouble distinguishing the show from reality.

The showrunners have said that one of the motivations behind this season was the reception people have had to Bojack the character, and also characters like him. Characters like Walter White and Light Yagami. Characters that are not meant to be liked and who's actions and beliefs are meant to be something to avoid. And who a vocal group of fans instead glamorize and extol their virtues. The creator of Bojack said what was a big wakeup call was when Harvey Weinstein said how much he connected and sympathized with Bojack. It made him question how much the unintentionally normalized Bojack's actions.

That was absolutely a throwaway guess by me. The fact that is exactly what happened is insane. In fact, by the time I sat down to edit the season, I forgot I had even made the comment - it was in the opening 🤣

Ooh that's interesting. It's one thing to enjoy the character and how he's written etc., but it's another to want to idolize him. I adore Bojack (and Walter), they're interesting characters and the journey is fun. But in absolutely no way, shape or form are they someone we should want to feel connected to. That's pretty wild
