Happy Friday y'all! I'm not going to lie, this batch was a bit tougher than previous ones. There's some great messaging and some moments and such, but overall....well, I won't spoil it :) Still a great watch!

Ahahahah oh boy this is the batch with Uncle Grandpa isn't it XD AKA the episode that makes everyone lose their sanity lol. Can't wait (When I eventually watch I'll probably leave a longer reply to this comment, but I'm probably... one of the tiniest handfuls of people in the whole fandom who actually tolerates the Say Uncle crossover ahahah. The Uncle Grandpa character himself annoys me, but I'm a sucker for stupid visual puns and there's a few good ones in there that tickle me pink even if the rest of the episode is such a dumb pointless romp. I do definitely try to remind myself that the ep was legit just two animation teams coming together and making dumb shit purely to have fun, though- when I think of it through that light, I can kinda just roll my eyes and move on ahah.)

Watching now- oh GOD, Pearl's reactions XD I forgot how hilarious an episode this was for her. Also, Amethyst's very deadpan "yeah he's trying to vaporize Steven" has such a funny delivery, oh god. The "Gemsona" mention was also amusing to me, because this was a moment of a fan term being directly nodded towards by the animators. In any case, the silver lining is that the episode directly calls itself non-canon and an April Fools' joke at the beginning XD _ See, you say that adults don't actually spout dumb crap like shows sometimes script them saying, but tonight at Christmas dinner my grandmother unironically said "dope" in a sentence and a part of my soul died a little, even though she used it correctly XD So unfortunately, I can actually 100% believe Mayor Dewey's horrid "trying to be hip with the kids" lingo *sobs* The scene in Shirt Club where Steven pulls a "political assassination" via t-shirt cannon stunt may be one of my favorite dumb gags in the whole show though, oh boy ahah _ "I think I just like when Pearl gets bullied" made me laugh really hard, thank you XD And yes, the Slinker was a spaghetti incident- it happened off screen. Which... I honestly kind of like, because it suggests the existence of a wider world beyond what we see on screen.
