Oh, and the reason why Etherians are so confused about the existence of stars and other planets was mentioned in Season 1 ep: Light Hope. According to Light Hope, "Mara stranded us in the empty dimension of Despandos." They don't know about stars and other planets, because there isn't any where they are.
