PSA: On improving loading speed for the blog (Patreon)

Hi everyone!

This is just a quick announcement (which I will make soonish on the blog too), that the main blog's site loading speeds SHOULD have improved, because this week, I caved, and subscribed to both a CDN service AND an image optimization service, both of which are supposed to help with site loading times.

I'm also taking Merij's suggestion, to clear the site caches manually on a more regular basis, as that appears to help as well.

At the same time, I would suggest that you try clearing your browser caches, so that your browser loads a fresh version of the site, instead of trying to grab an older version that would most likely load slower.

MC's experiencing better loading time now, after clearing her browser cache on her phone (Safari), so please try that too?

Fingers crossed that this works for you guys, but if you still run into poor loading times, please let me know, and I'll continue to explore options for improvement. 😅

UPDATE (Tues, 28 Feb, 2:20pm): 

I've approached my account manager for my ad network to ask her if she can do anything to speed up the ad loading time on my site, since I believe that's the slowdown right now.

She's moving my account to their new platform, which she thinks will help improve the ad loading times.

I've just done the steps to migrate the necessary things, and it looks like it's going to take a while to take effect. 

For now, there are barely any ads visible on the site, and the site's loading very fast, yay!

As the migration takes hold, we should start to see the ads again (ad revenue, phew 😅), and hopefully, this time, we shouldn't get the slowdown that we've been having.

I will keep you guys updated - please keep me updated too, on your user experience!
