I know that several of you have already dipped your toes into this show, but I thought I'd still include this trailer, since not everyone might be aware that it's out.

This is the highly anticipated small screen adaptation of Liu Cixin's novel "The Three-Body Problem."

I haven't read the book but my mom has, and she loves it. Mom has high standards for her sci-fi stories, and she considers the book to be very smartly written.

The synopsis as per MyDramaList reads:

"A nanomaterials expert sees a mysterious countdown superimposed in his field of vision and finds himself under military investigation. To unravel the mystery, he enters the VR game "Three-Body" developed by a secret organization ETO and discovers the truth behind the deaths of dozens of scientists and a tragedy from the days of the Cultural Revolution."

Show is 30 episodes, and has aired 9 episodes, as I type this. It's due to complete its run on 14 Feb 2023.

I am very impressed to hear KFG mom read the book and is apparently a SF fan? Always great to find another member of the tribe, so to speak...

Mom is a pretty serious sci-fi fan! Huge fan of the Dune series by Frank Herbert, tho she says the first book is the best and the rest are not as good, and she's read a good chunk of the best stuff available. She just said today, that she thinks that Three-Body is arguably THE best sci-fi book she's read, to date. After watching this trailer, she also thinks it's probably best to read the book before watching the show. Just putting that out there! 😁

Fangurl - I am quite impressed with this drama series. The look and the feel are exactly what I imagined as I read the book. A lot of the book is coming back as I watch the episode. I am super happy with this series and my son in law and daughter have agreed to watch this after more episodes drop.
