Hi everyone,

I'm here to ask for your opinion again, this time, for the replacement show for "First Love: Hatsukoi," which is a show that I covered on the Early Access Plus (US$10) tier.

I mentioned in my previous poll, that I was eyeing Taiwanese drama "Lesson In Love" as a replacement show, because I'd liked the first episode quite well.

At the same time, while I haven't reached the later episodes yet, I am getting the sense, from viewer comments, that the story gets preeetty melodramatic in its later stretch.

That's.. not quite what I'd imagined Show would be, so I'm now feeling uncertain of whether to continue with "Lesson In Love" as our replacement show.

In the meantime, I've discovered that Netflix J-dorama "The Makanai" (trailer here!) will be dropping on 12 January; a week later than ideal, if I want to cover it in place of First Love: Hatsukoi.

However, I do feel like The Makanai looks very different and interesting, and I recall several of you expressing interest to watch this one as well.

If we do pick The Makanai as our replacement show, I would only be able to post first episode notes on Tues, 17 January, and so, in the interim, I'm thinking of posting an Early Access Extra, on my first impressions of "Lesson In Love," to tide us over until we start The Makanai.

For the record, I did consider starting The Glory early and having that as the replacement show, but decided that it'd be better as a replacement show for Recipe For Farewell, for 2 reasons:

1, everyone who voted for The Glory in our poll, did so with the understanding that it would be available to the $5 tier, and so, suddenly switching it to the $10 tier feels unfair to those who don't have access to that tier, and

2, starting it later would put us closer to the starting point of Part 2 of The Glory, which is due out in March.

I also took a quick look at Island, but it wasn't grabbing me, from the little toe-dip that I did, and I decided that I don't really want to watch it. 😅

Lastly, there's also the possibility of Payback, which is due to air its first episode tonight.

The tricky thing about this, is,

1, It looks like the show will be streaming on Amazon Prime, so accessibility might be an issue, and

2, because the show airs on Friday and Saturday night, I would need to shift the review for First Love: Hatsukoi and the new episode notes, to come out either on Monday or Tuesday, instead of Sunday, to allow me to watch the first 2 episodes, and write up the episode notes. BUT, y'know, it's doable, if this is what you guys would prefer.

SO. Here's a poll, please let me know what you think! Choose as many as options as you like, it helps me know what you're interested to watch with me.

Also, feel free to let me know your thoughts in the comments!

The poll is a quick one, so it's open for just 24 hours. Sorry. 😅

Thanks you guys.

KFG ❤️

Fangurl - I voted but I am OK with whatever you decide to do.

Well, looks as if Glory Pt. 2 still does not have a proper release date. In response to such reports and viewers’ confusion, a representative of Netflix commented, “The release date for Part 2 has not yet been decided,” adding that the release date will be separately announced when confirmed. https://www.soompi.com/article/1561787wpp/the-glory-responds-to-reports-about-part-2-release-date

Pt. 1 has been hanging out on the U.S. Netflix Top Ten shows list for the last week, bouncing around between #6 and #9. Although that's no guarantee of quality or watchability, of course, it does seem to indicate that a certain number of viewers have found it interesting enough to watch? Last Korean show to make the U.S. list, as I recall, was Extra Atty Woo.
