I haven't seen Season 1 of this show, but have heard that it's pretty great, as long as you adjust your expectations to anticipate lots of drinking on the show.

And, based on this trailer, it looks like you should also expect lots of chaotic energy, from this one.

Also, it's so trippy to see Siwon in a man-bear sort of space, when I'm currently watching him in Love is for Suckers, where he's mostly neat and clean-shaven. 😅

Show is 10 episodes and will air on Fridays, from 9 December to 10 February, on tvN. No word yet on which streaming platforms will carry this one.

I agree with all off your feelings about using drunkeness to mine humor, but it does seem to be all over K-dramaland, no? I am half way through "Romance Is a Bonus Book" and just got through the seemingly requisite "characters get drunk and cry as a means of conveying information" scene. They do it so much because it is effective, if cringy. If there's one drunk scene that, to me anyway, was genuinely funny, it was in "My Love From the Stars" where Jun Ji-hyun is horrified by her slow realization of what happened the night before. As far as drinking shows go, I am a "Let's Eat" completist and so sorta-kinda enjoyed "Drinking Solo" despite an unappealing ML and myself. But one that I thought had a great vibe to it despite the theme was "Cheers to Me", which is ostensibly about drinking but is really about self-sufficiency. I write about this whenever I can because I thought it was a minor gem when I first saw it. It's also set in a publishing house and has a literate feel to it, so it makes a nice companion piece to "Bonus Book". The episodes are only 25 min and there are only 10 of them, so it's an easy watch, especially if one is into something a little more quiet; each ep comes across as sort of a small tone poem to me. Anyway, it's apparently coming back to Viki (US) in a couple of weeks and I'm going to re-watch it when it does. I'll let you know if I still think it's good. (@Trent, I think you might like it, caveat and all.) And to quote Rudy Tooms, channeled by George Thorogood: "You know, when I drink alone, I prefer to be by myself."

Interesting; I'll keep an eye out for it when it hits the Viki splash screen in a couple weeks or so...
