E8. This is definitely turning out to be a somewhat slow-burn type of show, where sticking around feels rewarding.

I'd expected that Seon Jae would meet Y in that supernatural office place, since the implication is that Y brought him there, but instead, Seon Jae gets a chance to enter X's office, and sees X's contract with Ga Ram for himself. Nothing like seeing it for himself, to understand what's really going with Ga Ram, eh?

That rock-edged anthem that plays every time X is in the vicinity really gets my blood pumping; I was nervous about X walking in on Seon Jae, and walk in he does. Eek. Thankfully, X doesn't do anything to harm Seon Jae, although Seon Jae does get thrown to the ground when he tries to grab X's collar, when he's unable to get more information from him.

That paper cut that Seon Jae got from rifling through the papers on X's desk does come in useful to help Seon Jae discern that his supernatural experience wasn't a dream.

The flashback to Seon Jae's proposal, when Ga Ram goes back to the apartment to leave her rings, is so sweetly poignant. I really enjoy these glimpses to their past. It gives us a sense of why and how they'd loved to begin with, and makes me want to root for their love to prevail, despite these supernatural happenings.

Also, it reminds me that every relationship has its dreamy romantic happy times - even relationships that appear troubled and fractured, like Seon Jae and Ga Ram's relationship had looked in episode 1, when we'd first met them.

What a sweet sentiment that Seon Jae states, when he says that Ga Ram is a good person, who makes him want to be a good person too.

How bittersweet, that even as Ga Ram reminisces about the past, she's sent Hee Jeong to the ER to be with Seon Jae. She really is doing everything she can, to help Seon Jae move on from her.

Ooh, that's an interesting reveal, when Y says to X that Ga Ram's not destined to die as stated in the contract. As it turns out, X is so hung up on the circumstances of his own hurt, that he's interfering in Seon Jae and Ga Ram's relationship, in an effort to assuage his own pain. It's odd, when you think about it. X is determined to punish Seon Jae for not appreciating Ga Ram (and I see this as an extension of him wanting to punish himself), but he doesn't seem to see or care, that in so doing, he's hurting and punishing Ga Ram even more.

I think that X is also looking for some sort of vindication; that if Seon Jae reacts the same way X himself had reacted in his previous life under similar circumstances, then he won't blame himself as much, for what had happened to him and the person whom he'd loved.

It's about time that things click into place for Seon Jae, because at least now he understands why Ga Ram had suddenly been determined to break up with him.

What a selfless, sacrificial love Ga Ram has for Seon Jae, being willing to go so far as to die earlier, if it will save Seon Jae. When all you have left is such a short amount of time, every second counts. And she'd give it up, and face the pain and her fears early, if it means that she can save Seon Jae? That's deep.

I'm glad that Seon Jae gets to Ga Ram in time, and saves her from her suicide attempt. I'm curious to know how Show is going to work things out for Seon Jae and Ga Ram, though. Is it true that the contract is invalid, like Y claims?

Next episode notes will be out on: Sunday, 17 Oct 2021!
