Hey Guys,

I’m listening to your constructive feedback about episode 2, and today I’d like to address “length”.

Thanks to all the extra support you’re giving us, we have new 3 job opportunities in the team and I’m going to recruit people soon.

Episode 1 took 11 months for a team of 3 people.

Episode 2 took 5 months for a team of 2 people.

I had to remove myself from the development and take care of new tasks, including communicating with fans and training recruits. They are going to be effective team members now in Episode 3.

While we work on getting more productive, I want to ask if you prefer shorter episodes posted more frequently (like Episode 2), or longer episodes posted less frequently (like Episode 1)?

Heh. I think there's a shift in focus on this, when ppl saw what shorter chapters mean. I think you should do it with how the story flows; remember, you're going to release this as a finished project, so it should flow like the story dictates.

In a perfect world the most you can crank out in a month. A few Patreons I'm subbed to put out about 3-5h worth of content per episode every month, though it's not perfect (mostly minor typos my brain has learned to autocorrect) and I have no idea how big the teams are (def not 1-man ops). Really long release schedules (3-4mo+) I tend to lose interest over time or forget about the plot/what it was about/what the MC was doing (I literally play dozens to hundreds of ongoing VN's as they are updated). For the final version I don't mind if it's 15-20 smaller eps vs 5-10 larger ones, for the most part it's still the same ~2 years overall, though the story will prob need minor adjustments vs each episode size (ie Nursing Back To Pleasure with monthly eps always seems to end in a cliffhanger just like a soap opera or other season finaleTV show would, but too many of those with less buildup/development and it starts to feel awkward/weird).

It's very encouraging for you to revisit this as a dev. It seems like a clear case of people wanting something without fully thinking it through. Which is OK! It's not a dig to be wrong about something. The community wanted content faster, but when the actual trade-offs were in front of them, they decided that it was better to wait for more and better polished content. It's great that you are revisiting the issue and not just sticking to the original poll!

I think revisiting this topic right now is a bit premature based on what you're telling us about expanding your team's size and skills. I understand the sentiment that some users might have that Episode 2 was too short, but you expect that the team will be capable of producing more content per month in the near future. Let's see what your team can do once it really comes online before adjusting your strategy. Episode 2 might not be very representative of what your team can achieve in the near future by continuing to pursue a strategy of smaller but more frequent updates.

Episode 2 was too short while Episode 1 was on the long side. IMO, you should shoot for something in-between the two.

Atomic Samurai

don't forget to include those 3d moving scenes like the ones in Ep 1.

^^ This! The 1st episode length really fit - the cliffhanger was in a natural place, not forced, and there was enough time (imo) to properly introduce and spend a little time with each character. Episode 2 it really stands out that we didn't see Dylan or his two stripper friends at all, yet the drink choice prompted an ending slide for a girl we really didn't even meet. Just seemed odd. Yes, there's foreshadowing and teases of who cleaned and returned his underwear, which is nice. And I don't expect every episode to tie up loose ends. Just seemed like MC should've heard from Dylan the same day.
