Postmortem to this month's movie! (long read if you're interested) (Patreon)

Hey all and I hope you’re doing well.

This is a follow-up post regarding the latest developments in our Patreon, specifically the movies. I’m going to talk a bit about this month’s movie and what I see coming down the line. Hopefully, if you’re part of the Animation Tiers you’ve checked out this month’s movie Bombshell. It’s a good look at what you can expect going forward.

This month represents what I consider a pretty big jump in quality. I’m not just talking about the increased resolution, which is part of it. I’m also talking about some added niceties like voice acting and more erotic situations (if you know what I mean). First off, none of this would be possible without your support. I’ve said it before but look at what we had 1 month ago, 6 months ago, a year ago and compare it to now. Look at the quality of the movies and the comics and the monthly releases and I’m pretty confident when I say it’s much higher and better now. That is all due to your support. This is what happens when we bring in more friends and fans who help contribute to the overall goal of getting everyone transformation art and animation. Thank you all for that.

There are 4 big things to talk about in this month’s movie the first one being the resolution jump. This is probably the easiest one to quantify. The old resolution was picked for a lot of reasons and I‘ve gone over them before. There were considerations like the file sizes when processing the film, the manipulation of the files inside Clip Studio, files in the editing software, and storage on my computer. The final bit was processing of the files at the end of the month to get them in your hands. All this happens every month for every animation and large resolution movies tend to create large files and that just slow everything down along the way. This month we did a jump and in doing so I upgraded my editing software. Again, this is all thanks to your support. The new software is a bit faster, a lot more efficient, and does a really good job of processing the movies. I feel overall we had a pretty good trade-off with the resolution increase and it didn’t totally tank processing time at the end of the month. Sure, there’s room for improvement but it’s not dire at the moment.

So besides resolution increase and the new/upgraded software we have voice acting. You’ll notice in this movie all the main characters had voice lines. It’s not fully voice acted! What you’re listening to in this movie is the result of Solstice and myself auditioning voice actresses for the roles. We collected these voice lines months ago and they’ve been sitting around ever since. I’ve shared bits of it with you before but what you have here is most of what was recorded. I say this to caution against excitement next month. There will likely be very little, if any, voice lines. Which brings me to my next point.

I would love to see a fully voiced movie. I’ve mentioned this before and I want to be clear. A fully voiced movie would likely take 2 to 3 months to make minimum. I say that because of the time to write the script, audition people, record the lines, bring it all back into the studio and put it together with the animation. It’s a bit of work and the odds of juggling everything perfectly within the month timeframe is low. You know me, I do not like overpromising and under delivering. I much prefer to exceed your expectations. So, if you like this voice acting and you’re hoping for a fully active movie I’m with you. We can talk more about that as we go but know it likely wouldn’t be something we could do every single month.

Finally, sexual scenes have been added to the movies. They been in the comics for nearly 30 years so it’s about time they showed up in the animations. I am certain a few of you are excited about this and a few of you are not so excited about this. Please know I’m always working to do my best. Adding things like sex scenes, female muscle growth and a few other things will probably always cause some consternation one way or the other. In the end though, I do believe it’s worth experimenting on new things and trying some ideas out to see how they land. Doing sex scenes is completely within my Venn diagram of interest so it’s not like I’m going out of my comfort zone.

I hope people understand when we get in more great friends and fans here the benefits for everyone go up. I’ve had a few discussions with people when we added FMG. We got a huge influx of new friends and fans when that happened. I could see some people were concerned that FMG would become the centerpiece of the Patreon. I feel it’s taken its rightful place up there! I enjoy doing it, it’s a lot of fun to have characters like Vivian and Karen. I also know a lot of people enjoy those characters. What happened after we added FMG was it allowed me to do more breast expansion and giantess art. In other words - everybody got more of what they liked and it was a win all the way around. I know this can’t account for people who absolutely don’t like something but I’m doing my best. In the end I do need your support to keep going. I gave away my art for over 30 years and I still do. For that to keep working I need to create something of value here and bring in all those awesome people that I know enjoy this type of art.

In the production department there’s the overall process of the movies and improved efficiency. This is due to my experiments in Clip Studio to create awesome art as efficiently as I can. This is where things like the comics payoff. This is where tests and all the movies done payoff. This is where your support pays off. Basically, things like the comics, the monthly animations and all the work that’s been going into the Patreon has allowed me to really improve my workflow in Clip Studio, in editing software and just an overall production of movies.

What this all means is thank you. Thank you so much for your support. Look at all that has occurred on this Patreon over its course. We started with just a few comic pages a week. Now you’re regularly getting a new movie, new full-color comics and lots of art and animation delivered to you monthly. The prices haven’t changed and in fact I’ve added more rewards to the lower tiers.

We have a Movie of the Month tier, where you can get just the most recent movie if you like. The Comic tier has access to over 50 PDF comics and 10,000 pages of art. This doesn’t even include all the monthly preview art that goes out.

I hope you’re enjoying your stay here. I know not everybody can throw down money on this Patreon. I know many of you probably have to dip in and out depending on your funds. Your old pal Ready will be here making art and animation. I love what I’m doing and I don’t plan to stop. My hope is we keep growing our community and bringing in more people. I would love to get you fully voice acted movies. Heck, I’m sure many of you can call put other suggestions you’d like to see me do and will talk about that.
