This goes out to friends and fans enjoying my comics. It especially goes out to the longtime supporters and fans of the older Growth Labs (Issues 1 – 12 specifically)

As you know, I’ve been redrawing pages from earlier Growth Lab Comics. I’m doing this because I enjoy the old comics. It’s fun to go back to revisualize parts with my current artistic style. From your comments and my observations, many of you enjoy the older comics versus the more contemporary comic storylines. I can’t disagree that my current comics are not the same thematically as my comics from 20 years ago. I’ve mentioned a few times and it bears repeating, I use comics as a sort of testing ground. That means occasionally the subject matter, art style, and other bits will change over the course of time.

I want to thank people who do like the old comics! I REALLY appreciate your understanding as my style involves and my tastes change over time. It means a lot to see you enjoying these older pages redone and your comments are always valued. I want every one of you to know I love those old comics. I would love to redraw all your favorite pages and stories if it was reasonable/doable.

I’m always looking to deliver new comics that would interest current and prior fans. My plans for upcoming comics are to add a story branch called “the Transformation Universe”. This is a Growth Lab Universe setting with one-off stories and new characters. I don’t mean every single story will have completely new characters but I do mean adding new people and plot lines. The idea is to break off a little bit from the mainline storytelling centered around the Coalition and the USAF.

Bear with me, I’m working through a lot of this myself. A lot of this is being workshopped in the current comics and ideally fans of Growth labs 1 through 12 will find stuff they enjoy. Feel free to comment here or on my main site or my Discord. I’m around and I do work to reply to every person’s question.

Thank you again, appreciate you all and take care.

That all sounds pretty good, although I feel like Issue 13 also fits within that range with 14 (Michelle Part 1) being the start of a shift.

Yep, honestly though, I personally divide the time periods into 1-6 being the early years. Issue 7 was a comic I drew over five years and is my 'transition' comic. 8-12 were the last of the 'old age' of pencil. 13 was first all digital and then 14 and on were the 'new age' with it's various sections.

I still have a few of the original stuff saved to my pc files.

I'm more of a fan of Growth Lab 1-6, plus the first bit of 7. I'd really love to see more comics done in that style, so this is great to hear. No offense intended, but I really haven't been enjoying the new stuff. Colour me excited.
