2016.01.20 Growth Lab World Building Part 1 (Patreon)

**Growth Lab World Building - Only Read if you are interested in the backstory of the Growth Lab and some of the characters. Otherwise this might be super boring to you!**

So we are about to start up a new story set in the Growth Lab Universe. I'm going to lay down some of the backstory and wanted to put out fair warning for those who actually track the characters and how they interact. Some of you might be interested and many of you likely do not care. THAT IS FINE! HA!

First off, let's be honest - the GLab stories tend to revolve around ways to show BE/GTS. That's not to say there's no story but the original impetus way back when was to just draw women growing. Nothing more, nothing less. Most of the early work and even work now is a LOT of disjointed moments and huge non-sequiturs. I'll try to reveal some of the thinking as best I can so bear with me. It may not make sense or it may give you some "ah-ha" moments.

After School - the latest story starting up. This is a tale intended to come after Growth Lab 6 and before Growth Lab 7. It's called "After School" since it represents the graduating class Naomi was in and their summer after high school ends. After Prom Night as they call it (which was the end of GLab 6). Benton is in it (so brace yourself if you are not a fan). We find out he has been fired from his position at school and is looking for work elsewhere. While this is a somewhat Benton-centric story at first it does delve into the first introduction of Hannah and Luna into the timeline. Now they do show up in later stories (Hannah in GLab 7 and Luna in GLab 11 at the very end) but this would actually be their chronological intro.

The idea here is Luna and Hannah have been working to create some sort of super energy serum that has mutated and created the growth epidemic. Hannah wants this formula for creating super soldiers (ala Captain America) and Luna wants to use it for an energy source to power various scientific breakthroughs (like her teleportation machine). They are both working on separate projects within the government. What part of the government you ask? Well, I always pictured Hannah and Luna working with the Army branch. Luna being off doing more esoteric things with her funds while constantly promising these awesome breakthroughs for Army research.

So, back to the story. About half way through we find out Luna and the army have developed a method to safely remove dangerous energy emissions by use of an artificially created crystal. This thing can absorb energy safely but as you know - things don't always go so well. I do like the wrap up of this particular story and I think you will too. It hopefully adds a bit to the world and also has a lot of my newer and arguably better style.
