I don't really follow much of Lays solo work and this was the first time I saw this. The visual was incredible but the song, I agree with you. I wonder if this is this for some sort of movie? Because the way the song is structured I could see this working perfectly in a film score

Lay spent about 1.5 million USD on this video himself and it was filmed at Hengdian World Studios (largest film studio in the world) so yeah the visuals of the mv was bound to be some of the best that you've reacted to thus far! Also the Lotus flower is a cultural symbol of growth because it grows and blossoms out of the mud
