Commissions and Commission Alternative (Patreon)

A bit of a long read but please read if you are interested in commissions.

I totally forgot I had to post this lol......So! Finally I'm opening commissions, though as I've been saying for a while this is not something that comes for cheap because of how difficult and time consuming it is. At the same time I do not like charging absurdly high prices for my work, because of this is that I came up with the idea of giving the benefit to those long time patrons to get discounted the same amount they have pledged so far to me as a DISCOUNT from the total price of a commission. This way I can charge less for work and at the same time give supporters an extra incentive to stay and at the same time have a bit of crowd control since if I just had low prices for everyone I would get flooded with work that would overwhelm me. I think we all win like this.

In short I want accessible commissions to be a reward for those that stick with me and help me create this type of content for longer periods of time (Notice I call them accessible NOT cheap).

So There are a couple of scenarios I want to discuss regarding the type of commissions I can offer:

#1 You want to call the shots, be my boss tell me who to draw, what angle, background and which pose. Fine we discuss the price, you get your discount and deal is done.

#2 Now this is a more interesting option. I've been thinking of ways of bringing the price even lower to be more accessible. What If you can commission me but not calling all the shots letting me have all the creative control, you would get to have your character animated and this would bring the price down a lot more. Let me explain; What if the characters we choose from polls where put on for sale on a "YCH commission"? As in I would have all the creative freedom to choose the angle, the background , the position, etc. and the only thig you the client would do is pay to have your OC inserted there.

I'm calling it YCH though it won't be an auc+ion (*Censored can't use that word)

Anything between the lines of "whoever gives me more money wins" is against the ToS of patreon so it will not work like the typical YCH you see in twitter or FA.
It will be more like "whoever wants to be in the scene can message me and buy the slot".

But what if more than one person want it?
A:/ I will always give priority to long time members. And if by chance all of them are old timers then we can make one for each. Of course within reason, I don't expect to get 20 requests of the same animation.

So here is an example of how this method #2 would work. I would put out artwork of a character that was either choosed by poll or simply whatever I decided to draw for that month. A blank place holder character would be placed to resemble your OC. The price would be on the image and you can deduct the amount you have pledged to know how much it would cost. In this example the commission is 280$ (which is already way below what other animators are charging but this is because we are using the method #2 where I have all the creative freedom).

You have been here two years. With a tier of 4$ a month so you have pledged a total of 96$ so this 280$ commission would end up being 184$

This would be an insane price for animation. This is what most people are paying for NON-animated artwork.

One more thing that I probably should consider is that those that are new might feel it takes too long to get a decent discount so I think I will be opening a higher tier for those of you that want to pay for their commissions in advance by getting this discount for your commission a bit faster.

And lastly I will clarify that this will not reduce the amount of content I put out for patrons. That will remain the same, with time I'm only getting faster at this so fear not.
