We often get so obsessed with the ‘big stuff’, the life markers and giant moments that we forget about the day-to-day stuff.

And to me, that seems a little silly on our part. Life is mostly made up of the mundane, the routine and ritual - surely we should give it the attention it deserves. Or at least, a little more than we do.

So, here’s me trying to practise gratitude for my incredibly cozy and safe everyday.

I am genuinely surprised I had as many things as this. And you might feel that way too. You might not think there’s a point trying to write things down because you haven’t done anything, but honestly, you’d be surprised.

The whole point is that this list is full of little wins. Did you practice good hygiene, load the dishwasher and keep general order in your space? Write it down. It’s a little win. Did you make a stranger smile, make your friend a coffee, sit down and talk about each other’s problems? Write it down.

Our everyday moments are our everything. It matters.

I don’t know about you guys, but I find it very easy to pick fault with myself - and honestly, it’s exhausting and pretty pointless (unless done with constructive and helpful intention).

So, here’s me, trying to be good to myself - sitting back with a cuppa, thinking back and appreciating those tiny positives that make up life.

Maybe give it a go!

Here’s My List for the Month:

  • Consistently exercised everyday for the past two weeks.
  • Started and stuck to my Japanese lessons for the last month.
  • Made my family dinner the last two Saturdays.
  • Made my new friend a birthday present.
  • Got mama a Mother’s Day gift she appreciated.
  • Got my sister a Mother’s Day gift she wasn’t expecting.
  • Consistently stuck to dog training. Every. Single. Day.
  • Prioritised self-care instead of unhealthy habits.
  • Kept work to a bare minimum on the weekends.
  • Started a script writing side gig.
  • Actually remembered to consistently floss.
  • Baked at the weekend.
  • Got Mina a chew toy she’s yet to destroy.

I’d love to see yours in the comments, but no pressure.

All the best

Amazing job, just the little things get ignored and sometimes just those wins can help improve your mood. I'd take a crack at it but my autistic brain finds it hard, if I figure it out to community tab it shall be.

Proud of you, Tea! My list would be: -Going on my practice drives even though I feel a lot of anxiety -Staying off my phone a bit more and interacting with the people around me -Committing to my hobbies even though it's hard to get started -Doing what I can at work -Working hard on my music even though I don't love everything I'm creating -Continuing to build a great relationship with myself before worrying about making connections around me

It's kinda funny how hard it sometimes is to even think about and acknowledge the little wins. I initially wrote down a list, but I feel pretty anxious to actually post it. Like posting it is admitting that I didn't manage to do more important things. Bigger tasks. Or whatever. But at least I typed it out, even if just for myself. And individually I feel good about those wins, but looking at it all combined made me feel bad. Stupid, a little weak.

Love this idea of making a list of small things to do Tea. It makes you feel accomplished even the little things are completed.

This week I’ve spent having fun at a convention. I mainly did. cosplay and played some tabletop games. So, I can be proud that I took some time to focus on myself and having fun with a friend

Maybe ill try counting them this month comin up. Also dont forget to take at least one day off when working out as your body needs time to rest and recover. Though maybe thats just for muscle gain idk
