“Are you really hugging your high school bully?”

Forgiveness isn’t for the person who wronged you

It’s for you, so you can let go and move on.

Touching commission for a lovely commissioner

DISCLAIMER:

To clarify, I don't think there is one way to handle a past bully apologising to you. I've never been bullied by a peer, but I do think that all cases are individual and there is no generic statement that can cover all of them.

This audio absolutely does not endorse "oh, well, they said they're sorry - so, we should forgive and forget all bullying". Not at all. It's simple one example of what could have led to the bullying, how that made both the victim and the bully feel, and how on reflection, a person could take responsibility and try to make amends.

Most bullies, especially high school bullies are being abused at home. Violence, cruelty and humiliation are normalised from a very early age. This is not an excuse, but certainly part of the explanation. But then again, some people are just cunts. Life is infuriatingly grey and that's what makes it so damn hard to figure out.

Good luck to us all.

All the best,

Tea

"I was never angry with you. I was sad, because I was afraid that you'd lost your way."

A very nice audio. Not every bully is coming from a place of pain and confusion but some are. I was bullied a lot back in the day but I don't hold grudges against any of those folks. Forgiveness or maybe just forgetting is a good thing.
