Part of the appeal is an almost evolution of the tomboy trope, since they can also "relate" to males being aroused as they have both sets of genitals, instead of just interests and mannerisms like a normal tomboys. oh no i think my comment got deleted trying to edit it so ill repost :( as a trans person you likes futa content, i have mixed feelings about the content, so ill try to be concise. for me personally, the appeal is the potential non-binary representations of genital configurations which, as a non-binary myself, can feel very validated by if done correctly. the fact futa’s are canonically often born as cis women further reinforces that gender can be beyond the binary. this is why i prefer my futa content to be softer and fluffy, because more aggressive futa content can play into harmful stereotypes of people who fall in non-binary frameworks as “freaks” or something people only do for sexual gratification. this is also plays into how some people, not all but some, use futa content as a way to fetishize being gay or trans in a bigoted way. “so im not gay/“a woman”/etc for liking penis, its a women so its straight!” which i hope i dont have to explain is harmful. the tldr is, done right futa can be a sexy way to experiment with non-binary sexuality and celebrate differing identities. done poorly, futa can play into harmful stereotypes of queer people and let bigoted people dance around “its not gay” semantics.

Not entirely certain, but for me I suspect it's kind of a sweet balance between male and female. As someone who lives around 1 on the Kinsey Scale (0 = all hetero, 6 = all homosexual), it allows me to engage with just a little bit of masculine vulnerability.
