Some people have suggested we’d benefit from rebranding and having a completely new name for TeacupAudio. That way we’d have a chance of getting a consistent and safe channel.

What do you guys think? And what name should we change to, if we do?

Rebrand if you want to change the product. Stay if you want to build on the legal concept of “goodwill”: you have a core base of loyal listeners that generates more value than the product in isolation. Alternatively: create a subsidiary for a pen name that offers a different type of product. Maybe a non-romantic F4A gym partner, confessor, counselor, tutor role play.

I think could be both good and bad as your trail online is tagged everywhere as teacup including all thumbnails it may make it hard for people to find you in future when discovering older content. Though a rebrand may help with youtube bots its hard to say as the algorithm for these things change so often. Could be worth a trial period if you think its not a massive difficulty to undo once done. ( Really difficult call just my input as someone who works in the online SEO/ online advertising sector).

I don’t see sense in changing the product, when it’s the marketing that’s technically the issue. But thank you for the thoughts. I have no plans of abandoning anyone. I merely want to ensure a future for myself and my listeners.

As much as I love Teacup Audios, I think the reason YouTube keeps taking down new and clean accounts you make is due to name recognition.

The name TeacupAudio has been shadow banned and blacklisted. Other channels make similar content and have no problems. Renaming could give us a fair chance instead of constantly being knocked back. Just a thought.

Rebranding is unfortunately a thing that many ASMR/Role-playing audio channels have to go through in their life cycle for one reason or another. Your listener base will always rediscover or will follow immediately. I personally took time away and was happy to find my way back to the TeaCup "cabinet" if you will. I know friends that have had to rebuild and rebrand 3-5 times in as many years. So whatever your decision is Tea your followers and listeners will always find you again and as long as you love making content we will drink it up.

I certainly think it's worth a try to get around this crazy shadowban. Though didn't you use a name "Secret Audios" at one point and they still took it down? Will this rebranding be different in some way that YT won't be able to detect?

I'm not a fan of the idea of needing to rebrand in general for anyone but, if you do, I get it. Then again, I'd expect them to keep nuking you anyway. Bots hate wholesome degeneracy.

Cup of Tea sounds like a good test trial 🤔 I think it'll draw more people in while the ones before the rebrand will know who it is, it's a good safe name I think

As much as I don't like the idea of the name change, I'm also realistic enough to understand that that is what's needed to be done just to keep the whole thing going. If I were to pick, I'd say "Cup of Tea Audios" fit the bill much rather nicely.

Might be worth a shot, I'm not excited about the idea but might be necessary for the health of the patreon and I doubt a rebrand would lose many people so long as it's just a singular rebrand.

I'll be honest, I'm not sure, I'm personally bad with change in general, though the more I think about it the less sense it makes, I can't speak for others though so they might have better answers.

Hilariously, I was looking at Teacupaudios and read "Tea cuppa udios" yesterday. I swear I'm not dyslexic, I was just tired when I did. But I think Cuppa Tea Audios is a nice subtle nod to yourself.

It may be rooted in comfort, familiarity, and nostalgia. Long-time viewers/listeners might associate the original branding with positive memories or experiences, making them reluctant to embrace change. Some people might worry that a significant shift in branding could make it harder for them or new viewers to find the channel. I know that you'll keep being consistent with the content you're always known for and do anything to keep it that way. If the name change is required, I'm all for it.

If it'll make dealing with content hosting easier go for it. I don't care personally. Of the options listed I like "cup of tea" just for the idiom "my cup of tea." I mean, I'm not supposed to drink tea anyway so follow the steamy mug of your preferred-liquid-based dreams.

the only downside of rebranding i can see is that your fans won't like the rebrand due to nostalgia and some may not understand that the rebrand would be helpful for your youtube channel

Chai Chai is my favorite out of these. But for the purpose of maintaining the audience that is only YT, I'd say the closer to teacup audio the better for that

Been here a long time, fore a few years. I have to say, if you think rebranding might give you a chance to have a channel on YouTube or wherever else you want without it being pretty much IMMEDIATELY taken down, I think it would be worth a try to rebrand. Maybe something like Sweet Tea Audio, because you're Tea and you're very sweet and caring. Or the ones you recommended are also very good.

As much as I may like the TeacupAudio name, I recognize that a rebrand might help to evade the entities that have a hate boner for TeacupAudio. For what it's worth I also liked the proposed name of Decaf Audio.

Tea, Your current name was the way for me to find You on Patreon and even get the info (on Reddit I think?) that Your channel on YT was nuked. For me it was just boom and some of my faved vids gone. No idea why, where You went, what happened, etc. Also, I see it as a brand, associated with high quality audios and certain soundscape design so, I voted against the change. Besides, honestly, I can't see what's so beneficial about name changing. I mean - if You want to move to something completely new in terms of subject and/or method of storytelling, cutting off Your past You don't want to be associated with anymore, might be a good idea. Other than that? Same visibility and same nuking from YT bots You were eager to ragef*ck a while ago, no matter how You gonna call Yourself.

I don't have the statistical data, but I feel like YouTube is almost mandatory for growth. Given the type of content here, channels like this tend to grow through the recommended page or homepage as opposed to word of mouth or link sharing. YouTube is how a lot of people including myself even found Teas content in the first place, so I believe the best move would be to do whatever secures us a consistent channel on YouTube without getting taken down.

Teacupaudio sounds SFW as fuck to me, that's specifically a YouTube problem because 98 percent of the site is ran by AI, I still think you'd get slammed since you had names like Super Secret Audios.

just change it, i think its nice you ask your audience but people gotta be real, a name change doesnt change anything about the content at all. theres nothing "sentimental" being let go unless these people are way too invested in the content/ audios you post (in an unhealthy way), might sound rude but its just my opinion especially if the person and content isnt changing 🤦🏻‍♂️

I think a rebrand is in order, but I think sticking with Tea as a persona may lead to another channel termination. Something like Chai Chai may work, but it may need to be a new name with no association to your previous channels.

Your YouTube content isn’t any much lewder than any other gf roleplay channel out there but somehow you get singled out. I’ve seen different channels get away with much more, practically breaking tos. I feel like someone there just has a bias towards this channel. A rebrand might help. Though if there’s someone or a group of someones out to get you, they might eventually find the channel anyway despite the new name. Cause I doubt it’s just an AI algorithm that keeps taking down channels. Either there’s people with a grudge who keep reporting you or someone working for YouTube just decided they didn’t want you on the platform. But hopefully I’m wrong and a rebrand leads to a stable channel with a stable flow of income. I’m partial to the name “Freshly Brewed Sweetness” myself despite being a mouthful. Still stays within the coffee/tea realm without directly using coffee or tea derivatives in the name.

I'm not sure if a rebrand will solve the issue since channels like super secret audios still get taken down. The only way I was able to recognize the channel after it would come back would be the thumbnails.

Have you thought of only changing the YouTube Name? You can still be TeaCup Audio here, and then have the YouTube Channel have a different name. I like Your Cup of Tea best.

Left-field suggestion... What if you make a YouTube channel that has the 'new' name, to literally demarcate the Safe For Work/Sleep Aid/Positivity audios ("Your Evening Cup of Tea" would theoretically work in that case), but retain TeacupAudio as your 'normal' audio name/producer name for script writing etc? And hey, that gives a wider path for the 'Pinch of Positivity' things you do too <3 =============== Wow... This is a tricky one... Mainly because I was taught long ago that one does not change a product/brand/company name unless you have practically no choice... ...But considering the amount of nonsense you have to keep battling with the platform providers, if the TeacupAudio name is literally being targeted (as seems to happen to many), a name change would make sense... My Autism mind is kind-of spinning out from that paradox. What I seem to remember is that, for all the trials you've faced, TeacupAudio does still have VERY positive connotations in the ASMR/Roleplay community as far as I know, it's just that YouTube/Patreon/etc have bizarre priorities about their censorships and terms of service that keeps hurting, right..? ......No matter which path you choose, I (and I suspect many others) openly support it <3 Thank you for not giving up, especially in the face of adversity :-) :-)

Think of it as a fresh coat of paint to the brand. Something that gives you an algorithm clean slate. You such good work and people need to hear it. So if it's a brand makeover, I think it does more good than harm.
