It’s so easy to convince ourselves that we should always aspire to be productive, always aim high, always strive for doing or even being the next best thing.

And whilst there’s nothing inherently wrong with that, it’s just… not for me. I don’t want to be anything big or great. I don’t want people to remember me (besides my family and loved ones). I just want to feel okay in as many moments as I can.

And today I feel a bit… slump-y. Not quite good, not quite bad.

And when I feel this way, I make a slump day list. I jot down all the things I’ve done during the day, completely mundane, ordinary things that nobody would call aspirational, and it helps to remind me that I am very successful at being a living breathing mammal.

Maybe it could do the same for you.

Remember: you’re not a brand or a salary or a relationship status - you’re just a lovely little mammal doing what they can.
