July Updates! (Patreon)

Sorry for the absence these past few weeks! Both June and July had been very hectic for me, and I had to step away from my socials for a while. With that said, there are two parts to this post: charity update and Patreon update.

Last year I dedicated some of my revenue from Boyfriends stuff to various charities, which you can check out in this post. I'm doing the same for this year, and here are the receipts for them!

THANK YOU FOR THE BIG SUPPORT FOR THE PLUSHIES! In total, we managed to sell 5,098 units.

As mentioned on the product page, I will be donating a portion of my profit to GAYa NUSANTARA. Webtoon/Makeship staff has confirmed that the amount I'm supposed to be donating is USD $1,452.19. I'm converting that to IDR and rounding it up, and I've sent a donation of IDR 25,000,000 to this charity.

Aside from local charity, this time I want to donate to communities outside of mine as well. I made two donations, each $1000, to Trans Housing Coalition Fund (a charity I've donated to before!) and Keshet.

First off, I'm pausing my Patreon activities for August. This also means you won't be charged for the month of August. To be honest, I haven't worked on much in July aside from the Webtoon... I think I want to build up a buffer for content so I can feel like I'm not constantly being chased by deadlines (even though there's technically no real "deadline" for my Patreon posts).

I'm going to work on extra chapters 4 and 5 too. I can't exactly tell when they're gonna be finished, but... yeah. I'm doing it.

Aside from that, I also want to do a more consistent merch release! I have stuff planned out for Halloween (October), Chinese New Year's (January), Valentine's day (February), and White day (March). Here's a little sneak peek for them. Nothing super solid yet though. As usual, I'll keep you updated ^^

This is more of a personal update, but I also want to do stuff aside from Patreon/Boyfriends stuff. I wanted to open YCH commissions before, but I wasn't able to do that during that time. I also want to do more projects with Boyfriends, preferably with little intervention from Webtoon because frankly, I was really disappointed in how Webtoon have represented my series. I want to do more artwork for friends; that was a goal I wrote out early this year. I want to write letters to friends again. I used to do that a lot before covid hits and restrictions were implemented on the postal system. Yeah, there's a lot of things I wanna do, and it feels like I'm always running out of time.
