It's taken almost thirty thousand words, which is like half a novel, but I've gotten to the point of the premise kicking in. Or the end of the first act, I suppose. 

I wanted this to be just an "opening sequence" of Punisher doing typical Punisher stuff before I interrupted the gameplay loop and revealed the twist, but now it's more like From Dusk Till Dawn, where halfway in we're switcharooing from the vigilante genre to something else.

The other thing is that I'm a little excited about novelizing this thing, since Frank Castle himself is just one of many Mack Bolan expies, so if he's Bill Bruno or whatever and he doesn't wear a skull and he never talks to Iron Man--

And this is also where we can also make the porn a little more plausible by saying oh, no, he doesn't have a dead wife, they killed his parents, they raped his sister, that sort of thing.

The problem is, you try to think of ways to set apart this new Punisher aside from making him a cocksman and like... there's already a twist. It's a conventional vigilante story with a twist on it. You can't really add on another twist where he invented a jetpack or something, because then when you explain it to people, you have to go "okay, imagine the Punisher, right? Oh, and he invented a jetpack. BUT THEN..."

So I want to think up something cool, but you know, subtle. Can't do something where he's had a psychotic break and forgotten that he's really a housecat.
