“You want the three of us…”

Kory went to get a towel, but not for herself. She used it to dry Donna’s tall, lovely body. “To rejoice in the closeness we all share. To explore our connections to each other and celebrate how strong they are.”

Donna pivoted slowly, feeling oddly regal at the fawning attention Kory gave her—this princess from another star, now luxuriating in being her servant. “Dick will think we’re taking advantage of you. That’s the last thing he’d want.”

“Dick will trust your motives. He thinks far higher of you than he does himself. I truly think he wouldn’t want to be intimate with me now… not without you there to show him that my vulnerability is not a weakness I need to shed before he joins with me.”

Donna laughed disbelievingly. “This feels so weird to say, but he’d probably feeling pretty vulnerable right now too. Like he couldn’t protect you. What if he doesn’t want to ‘join’?”

Kory kissed her, her naked body clinging to Donna’s, voluptuous curves seeking their counterpoints on Donna’s own luscious body. Shuddering, Kory held her forehead against Donna’s. “I’m so happy with your concern for him. But that’s why we must work together. To make him comfortable with it. To help him see that the harm done by the evils of this world can’t overshadow the light we see within each other.”

She took Donna by the hand and led her out of the bathroom. The Amazon giggled like a schoolgirl, both amused and oddly touched by Kory’s good cheer. She was right. Her indomitable will was truly spectacular and, like her, Donna wanted Dick to appreciate it.

Kory wasn’t some malfunctioning Earther, not someone abashed or ashamed of her weakness. She was someone who took such joy in those she loved that she wouldn’t allow what had happened, terrible as it was, to blot out that joy.

Kory giggled with her. She was happy in Donna’s nearness. And Donna found herself hating the thought of Dick not being able to share that happiness—for him to let his well-meaning concern deprive him of the intimacy Kory gloried in. If it were only Kory, he might skate by on a parochial concern for her. Maddeningly treating her as if she didn’t properly grasp a concept because she didn’t handle it in the same way as a human did.

But between the two of them, they could make Dick see that Kory’s way of handling things was as valid as his way.

They both heard the door to Kory’s quarters open. Donna was a little sorry—she’d wanted more time to grow used to this naked innocence with Kory, to steel herself and prepare her arguments for how they’d face Dick—but perhaps it was best, Tamaranian, not to overly think things through. To grasp their keenly felt emotions and charge it on the certainty of their impulse.

Trusting that anything so deeply felt had to be right.

“Kory?” Dick called. “It’s me. I’ll understand if you want to be alone right now, but I’d really like to check in on you.”

It was only hearing his voice that Donna suddenly remembered her nakedness. She looked down at her bare body as if expecting some embarrassment to spring into being—to be suddenly ashamed of the state she’d been caught in.

But there wasn’t any shame for her groping mind to grasp onto. Especially when she looked at Kory, who smiled at her with good-natured kinkiness, like she’d somehow planned the whole thing. Perhaps there was no better way to explain this to Dick than simply to show him their closeness and let the beauty of their two naked bodies say all that needed to be said.

Reaching over to Donna, Kory pulled the bandage away from her head. “We’re in here, Dick. And neither of us want to be alone.”

“Us?” Dick asked, coming to the door.

His voice trailed off when he saw the two women standing together, Kory’s familiar but always intoxicating nudity paired with the forbiddance of Donna’s nakedness. He’d seen her bare a few times before, their complicated lives being what they were, but always averted his gaze. Now he was stunned by the combination of the woman he’d love and the friend he’d never allowed himself to lust after.

He looked, greedily, remembering Kory’s juicy cunt as he delved into her, but thinking of Donna too. His well-trained mind lunging at both of them, memorizing Donna’s awesome curvature while reliving so many glorious memories with the sight of Kory’s golden lavishness.

“Hello, Dick, it’s very nice to see you,” Kory chirped, sounding like her old self as the possibilities of the three people in the room sprang into being, lewdly occurring to all of them. To Kory, the long-kindled thoughts of their shared closeness now burned hotter than ever. “I’m very glad you’ve arrived here. Donna and I have just cleared some things up between us. But there are some things between you and I—and Donna—that must be resolved. And once they are, I think you’ll be much more comfortable with what happened today.”

Dick was uneasy. Concerned that this was some overreaction of Kory’s to what had happened. But how could he not be intrigued? And Donna was here… good ol’ levelheaded Donna. She’d never allow Kory to go off half-cocked.

“Wait, what happened today?” Dick asked. “With Superman? Gundersen? Is that why you’re—“

“No, it isn’t,” Kory stressed, stepping forward, and the sight of the jiggle that went through her luscious form with that one footstep hit Dick like a shot of tequila.

“Dick, Kory didn’t like what happened—putting it mildly—but it wasn’t the violation to her that it would be to you or me,” Donna explained. “To her, sex is something that… isn’t as tightly bound with love as it is in our culture. What she did, to her, was no different than… than taking a hit for a teammate so that they can complete the mission.”

“It’s not like that,” Dick protested. “It isn’t that at all, Kory…”

“And,” Donna pressed on, “she wants to show you that to her, sex can be just another form of affection, like holding hands or kissing.”

Kory nodded agreement. “I want to show my affection for Donna. And I want you to show it with me, Dick. I know you feel strongly for her—”

“Strongly?” Dick demanded, cheeks burning hotly like Kory had accused him of something. “I don’t love her, Kory, I love you.”

“And I you,” Kory acquiesced. “And I love her. Not in the same way or to the same measure, but does that make it invalid? Unworthy of expression? Dick, we saved many lives today. Fought a battle against a great and terrible foe, emerging victorious with so little lost but a tiny bit of pride. Isn’t that worthy of celebration? Shouldn’t that celebration be shared as widely as possible?”

“Oh yeah, sure,” Dick shot out sarcastically. “I’ll invite Gar and the rest of the guys.”

“Would that be so wrong?” Kory asked. “Why?”

Dick sputtered incoherently. “It’s just…” How could he explain to a woman who loved so freely—yet so casually, perhaps even callously? In a way that could uncharitably strike him as cruel, light, imperious. He knew Kory didn’t mean it that way. But it was hard not to feel slighted. He would never casually state to Kory that he wished to two-time her with Barbara or Raven… how could she do the same to him, even with all their differences?

He wanted to be first in Kory’s affections; that drive was twinned to how she was the first in his. He didn’t want to diminish their love for each other, on either side, by spreading it too thin. “I don’t want to lose you, Kory.”

With a happy purr, Kory floated over to embrace him. “You never could, Dick. But what I feel for Donna takes nothing away from my feelings for you. Look at her, my love. She is beautiful. She is willing and strong and young and charming. Should I think less of you for finding her attractive, simply because I am the one you are most attracted to?”

“That’s different,” Dick insisted. “Not acting on that attraction is—“

“An act of love? And not the opposite? Dick, I’m not saying my culture is right and yours is wrong. There’s something to be said for this intimacy you reserve for those you’re closest to. I understand why you would feel slighted if it seemed I was sharing what I felt for you with strangers on the street. But Donna is not some random person. You know how incredible she is. And you can see how lovely she is. Can’t we indulge in what she makes us feel without diminishing what lies between us?”

Dick turned to Donna. He’d seen her resolved, friendly, affectionate, curious, nervous—all those expressions were mixed together for her now. And something else, something he’d never seen directed at him before. Passion.

There’d been many times he’d been excited to be with Kory, but right now, he was sharing that with Donna. Donna, his friend, his colleague, held desire for him. Kory, his lover, wanted her as well. And he wanted her and he wanted Donna and they wanted him. It was crazy as hell, complicated as hell… and maybe as simple as all of them just indulging themselves all at once. They’d all get what they wanted, wouldn’t they?

“Dick, we don’t want to force you into anything,” Kory said, petting his cheek. “If this truly isn’t what you want, then I don’t want it either. But if it is what you want… but you feel it’s bad or shameful or weird to admit it… be brave for me? We won’t judge you. We’ll support you. And we’ll do things to you that we’ve dreamed of doing for a long, long time…”
