When Clint Met Laura notes (Patreon)

So the idea for this one came from watching Three Days of The Condor. In it, there's a scene where Robert Redford's being chased, he needs to get away, so he takes a woman hostage to hole up in her apartment, but has to have her call her boyfriend to break their date. Watching that, I thought wouldn't it be funny if the guy were just *such a jerk* that Redford had to step into the conversation and tell him off. I didn't really have any book projects where that kind of Jason Bourne relationship scene would apply, so I thought about the various pairings there are, settled on Clint/Laura, and tried that out. The scene with Natasha though is character-specific, as if you're writing a Clint story, you have to touch on the Clintasha bromance. And I like the somewhat silly idea of Natasha being haughty enough that she'll vouch for a guy and assure a woman she's not a serial killer's accomplice based sheerly on her cuteness. Finally, my apologies to the good people of Chechnya. Sorry, but you Russian guys are the only countries I can make fun of without looking racist. Just think of it as payback for you trying to kill James Bond all the time.

Anyway, this is a one-shot I just wrote to express this silly little idea, but I might continue it if people love it.
