The Acid Report - February 1, 2022 (Patreon)
Content
It's already February and we have a lot going on.
First of all, if you are a patron and you have gifted us with another month of support, thank you. Your collective contribution goes a long way with all of us.
Want to write your own work of political non-fiction? This Friday (February 4th) Grafton Tanner will join Zero Books and Acid Horizon to discuss his work on the politics of nostalgia. Moreover, we will open a Q&A where participants can ask questions about his work or his method. This Zoom session will be open to both Zer0 and Acid patrons. It will also be recorded if you cannot make it. If you haven't looked at Tanner's work before, take a gander at the links below.
NEXT FRIDAY (February 11th) Jason Read will join Acid Horizon to discuss with us his upcoming book The Production of Subjectivity. We will talk specifically regarding his use of Deleuze and Guattari in that text. This patron seminar will run from 3PM-4:30PM EST (8PM-9:30PM GMT), and it will also be recorded. Jason is excellent, so you will not want to miss this!
Also, the A Thousand Plateaus Reading group will resume this month on February 26 and 27th. We will be reading the plateau entitled "Treatise on Nomadology". Since the interest level has been quite high, we will continue doing two sessions for the time being.
Later this week, the crew will record an episode that recounts our discussion of the rhizome in A Thousand Plateaus. We have received many questions and comments regarding the discussion that took place in both sessions of the reading group. We intend to use this episode as a way to clear out some of those issues. We hope that you look forward to it!
In the meantime, stay healthy, read books, and fight back.
Best,
Craig
