Hello everyone,

It's been a minute since I've given an update. Here's what's happening:

1) First, we hope you've enjoyed our discussion with Catherine Malabou. The Reiner Schürmann text associated with that discussion is a really inspiring piece of philosophy. Catherine's sentiments had a mixed reception online, and we are still chewing on what was said. In any event, she was great on the show.

2) I will release the Deleuze and Guattari 'faciality' plateau episode either later tonight or tomorrow. We had a good time with Sean, and that will be a good chance for listeners to get acquainted with/revisit that text.

3) Patrons in the $10 tier who have been with us for four billing cycles will receive any Crit Drip t-shirt, mug, poster, or notebook of their choice.  Thank you for supporting, for starters!  Many of you already know that I have been running weekend campaigns to use a portion of the profits for mutual aid funds.  This weekend we are running another campaign, and it's a good time to get your theory friends a graduation gift and help someone out.  The remainder of those profits will be used to fund some production assets for a video we are producing. In the meantime, take a look at crit-drip.com to scope out your benefit item!

4) Video, you say? The video being planned involves Deleuze, death, and transcendental empiricism. The script is almost finished, and I am just waiting for summer vacation to arrive to get to the actual video production.

5) Upcoming episodes include Laruelle, Tiqqun, Agamben, Stirner, and Land.  We have connected with Dr. Gregory Sadler, The Minotaur of Milwaukee himself, to read piece from Fanged Noumena. Details to come.

6) I want to do a D&R Chapter 2 discussion either this coming weekend or the one after. I think some folks might be really busy around this time.  I'd like to get some feedback on that from you. Feel free to drop a note here, but I will also likely do another post for this topic later tonight or tomorrow. If we save if for 2 weekends from now, we'll either do a Zoom lunch/vibe session on Friday, or an informal Q&A, or something else.

7) Once again, thank you for your continued support.  Stay well and we'll talk Zoom to Zoom soon.

Craig

on 1): Malabou’s episode is the one that is resonating in me with the strongest intensities. apart from the theme of “principles” (with which i’ve been struggling in a research), it may have been the most important event of clearing what has been my epistemological-political “point of attack”. so, thank you all for giving us that… i’ll be hearing it again. about 6): i’d prefer two weeks from now. see you!

yeah! and to say that “it has not been philosophized” may seem to put us into trouble in thinking what to read, and i was eager to read something related to it. “Against Method”? Proudhon? i’m really staring at a field that was until now unthought and unknown! that’s something i couldn’t stop thinking after that episode. give us that book, Malabou!

I think the way to think about the claim is that 1) there is a very rigorous definition of conceptual anarchy that is going to take non-knowledge as important to a disavowal of first principles in a way that may or may not have been done before and 2) even it if were done, it would also stake a claim in political anarchism, which thinkers of metaphysical anarchy always stop short of. I kind of put her on the spot by asking her that at the end, she affirmed that position without much reservation. Given everything we discussed, I couldn't see her claiming something other than that.

Wait, I thought Chapter 1 (of D + R) was the current reading, am I mistaken?

That is correct--my mistake! I am getting feedback that two weeks from now will be better for most people, so I think we will do it then.

"real anarchism has never been philosophized, true or false?" por qué no los dos?

Late but just wanted to add 2 weeks from when you posted sounds good! I really enjoyed the Catherine Malabou episode. Could've kept listening. Good job, Adam, for making that happen!
