Hello patrons and welcome to another set of patron polls!

This month we'll be polling on a niche topic, specifically, the fate of Claire's mother!

As you may already know, Claire's mother sacrifices herself for Claire to escape, and once Claire leaves Hookton, she doesn't look back as the Continent is engulfed in war.

However, we've had a lot of interest in the fate of both Claire's mother. As such, I'd like to probe the thoughts of patrons with regards to this!

Would you like to be able to have Claire's mother reappear in the Isles, brought along as part of a group of fleeing refugees?

In such a scenario she'd be somewhat 'broken', and repressed into a state of dementia. Claire's goal would be to try and have her recover from this state.

Would you prefer an extended Prologue session where Claire can attempt to venture backwards after the initial scene with the pigmen, and try to rescue her mother?

Or would you prefer we don't explore this approach at all, and focus on the Isles' content?

Vote now with your opinion!

I'm honestly torn, because...while Expanding the Prologue is tempting, I can't help but think that it's 100% guarantee that Claire dies considering how inexperienced she is back then (at least that's what it feels like should happen). Only way I could see that go down is if she gets a lot of help from other random soldiers/adventurers in the area. Because otherwise it's just...how could anything happen as a result of that other than both of them getting enslaved? It'd be a one in a million longshot for any other thing to happen, since the whole story establishes from the start that Claire is no hero.

Without spoiling too much, what would be planned is essentially a band of soldiers who can initiate a rescue op, but are tied down because of a problem. If Claire solves the problem, the soldiers are able to assist.

Love it, really glad the mother is making a return and that there's an option to save her being made :D

I'm not super interested in Claire's mother. So that's what I voted for. But I think in context of the story you're trying to tell it makes the most sense for the player to encounter her later, or go back to rescue her. I think having Claire be so proactive and saving someone takes away from the desperate feeling of the first chapter.

Honestly, I just expected Claire's mother to die from the pigmen. I don't think everything needs to be shown (or told) of each and every character. Leave some things to the imagination.

I had been hoping for a chance to rescue her mom. I hope that we get to.

I love the idea of rescuing the mother and having having to care and provide for her, it gives us a reason to get into all the shenanigans that we do. since money becomes pointless after awhile. like we have to pay for her monthly rent at an inn untill we can afford to buy her a house (maybe at the ranch?) and becomes a sort of base of operations where we can go and "dream" or "remember" past scenes but not only that start to introduce the mother to all our debauchery. but this would require revisiting all past content to add her in. but lets say after her mind recovers (from finding her) or feels guilty from having her daughter provide for her (rescuing at start) she asks how she can help make money, claire can start to lead her down certain paths/fetishes, not sure how much i should say here, but you can guess what im talking about or perhaps she walks into the barn or kennel and sees you getting plowed by your pack of faithful companions. ohhhh the possibilities are endless! :D

Narf

Why would you expect that? In a h-game it naturally makes more sense (a LOT more sense) that her mother won't die for a long long time, and instead is giving Claire plenty new siblings

Narf

Saving her mom is ridiculous, no doubt there, BUT:
Failing to save her could result in a way happier reunion:
Mother and daughter impregnated by the same creature.

Archerko

Can we also have bad ending when we rescue her mother.

Because her mom is literally the tutorial, and what better way to show the ferocity of the monsters than with the death of her parents? Cliched motivations aside, it makes for a very compelling case for her to try and take back the continent with the help of the different factions Claire joins. Regardless, from Gilly and the Claire bad ends, it's pretty clear that women get bred to death anyway.

Narf

Don't you mean Happy Ending? For my Endless Depravity Claire the thought of joining Mom in breeding-slavery is literally the opposite of bad.

Archerko

That is true ^_^

Voted for both, but I agree with some other comments: turning back should lead to a bad end, not success. The whole vibe of the prologue is apocalyptic and a successful rescue would almost certainly spoil that. I guess Clair's mother could be rescued only to be enslaved at the fort? That way the later find & heal quest would apply to players that turn back and players that don't.

Doctor Fate

Id actually like to see an opportunity to rescue Claire's father.

DoctorDeath

You should be able to turn back to try to rescue her, but only come upon her mid-rape by the pigmen. (Good opportunity for a scene ;) With no other option, Claire would have to continue on if she wants to avoid that fate as well. But eventually she should come across her mom in a pigman den or something being used as a breeder.

I'd like if we can play as her mother for sometimes and get her raped around or just pick her with her daughter so they can have a sweet double screens? more important i want to level her stats like after 10-20-30 points on DEPRAVITY her face turns on the screen many times like she's totally lost to have sex or or begin horny and touching her self or something? and so with the others and pls add MOOREE and many scenes when i bitch her around the cities !

dystopianproject

Not sure how logical having a playthrough with the mother would be (because she's kind of trapped and all so there's nothing she can do), but we're definitely working on more scenes with transformative UI portraits responsive to player actions!

I agree with DD. Having the option to save Claire's mother could incorporate the stealth mechanic. You'd have to sneak around to try to resuce her or get raped by the pigmen. When you do reach her, either she's being raped and you can't do anything, unless you have a knife, or she hasn't been raped yet and you two can escape. After that, she could tell you that she's tired and will rest for a minute. Allowing her to come back in the isles.
