I wanted to post something a bit different and, with the year wrapping up, a behind-the-scenes peek at our current Integral Interval chapter seemed fitting,

The above pic shows some of Salaiix's reference material for Satori's gun holster. We played around with several designs, but felt this fit best. Unlike the standard PCPD gun holsters, this one is more tactically suited for combat--notice the pouch for an additional ammo magazine. This holster also has straps that connect to both her belt and leg (unlike the PCPD holsters).

Above is a bird's-eye look at Madison's apartment layout, along with a few notes. We spent quite some time on her living quarters, even though we only see the place in a few pages of Integral Interval. We'll be revisiting her apartment again in the near future, so it was crucial we nailed the design and layout here. Not to spoil anything, but it's a location that will have even more significance in upcoming chapters.

The above images are some of Salaiix's initial thumbnails for Integral Interval. You may notice that the page numbering is a bit off -- we actually extended this chapter considerably. In the script, the opening 'Satori flashback' was only supposed to be eight pages. In the thumbnails, it was extended to eleven. And in the finished comic, we changed it to fifteen pages. Personally, I feel the extra page-count really enhanced that sequence. Salaiix did a wonderful job giving it a 'cinematic' quality by focusing on the characters' expressions and switching between both 'tight' and 'wide' angles, which would have been impossible with less pages and more dialogue-heavy panels.
