November Update! (Patreon)

First and foremost, thank you so much for your continued support of Danger Zone One. Every pledge on Patreon allows the comic to continue (along with funding extra content like sketches, pinups, NSFW art, and more!). Whether you’re backing DZO at the $1 tier or the $10 tier, it’s an immense help. Each and every dollar really does count. And, as always, your comments and feedback are truly invaluable!

Here are some updates for this month: 

—Salaiix has a bunch of new sketches incoming, both SFW and NSFW. Also, he’ll be continuing his latest and, possibly, hottest hentai chapter yet: “Cabin Retreat”. 

—I always like to add some guest artists into the mix and this month is no exception. Last month NICO did a sexy Madison pinup, and now he’ll be doing one of Reena in November. Also, we have another surprise guest artist submitting a NSFW pinup later this month.

—The Danger Zone One visual novel is currently in production, so I’ll be posting some of the early background sketches. These are still in the work-in-progress phase, but you’ll see them here before anyone else. 

—Our Kickstarter rewards are currently in production and I’ll be posting some previews of what those look like.

—Reena cosplay photoset!! Anastasia Komori did an incredible job on her Reena cosplay. Her attention to detail was amazing (even going as far as 3D printing some of the accessories!). Patreon backers at the $5 tier and above will be receiving the photoset (we’re aiming to have it available on November 30th). But I’ll post some previews later in the month too. 

Now for some even larger updates: 

Mega Update 1 — We’re nearing our next milestone which, if we reach it, means that two DZO pages will update per week. We keep getting close, but falling short by the end of each month. So, we’re going to add an extra incentive this month. If we reach our milestone, and maintain it to December 1st, every backer at the $10 tier and above will receive a physical Reena magnet. This is the first time we’re offering a physical item through Patreon. But it’ll only be sent out if we reach our milestone on December 1st. 

Mega Update 2 — This has no bearing on everyone currently pledging to Patreon, but I wanted to be 100% transparent here. I will soon be switching the DZO Patreon to charge up front. Again, if you’re already pledging, this will have no effect on you — you’ll still only be charged on the first of the month like always. This will only effect brand new backers or those who alter their pledge. I’ve been debating this for months, and have continually held off on charging new Patreon supporters up front. It’s something I’ve really been wrestling with, and not sure if it’ll help/hurt the comic in the long run (though I see most creators now do charge up front). While I like the idea of having the option for potential backers to sample what’s on Patreon, it has some major downsides. Over the last few months, there have been numerous new Patreon backers who have "pledged", only to stick around for a few days/weeks, and then drop out right before the end of the month (basically viewing the content and cutting out before paying). Now, with the physical rewards, the upcoming photosets, and much more new content planned, it’s simply not fair to existing Patreon supporters to allow that. Plus, we update almost every day, that’s a lot of content continually coming out — so I feel it was the right time to make that change. I completely understand when backers no longer want to support the comic, or don’t have the funds to do so — that’s not the issue at all. I’m strictly speaking here of those that pop in, with the only intent to view/download a bunch of the content within a few days or a week, and then leave prior to the charge date at the 1st of the month…basically claiming a bunch of Patreon-only content for free.
