"The Carnival" - Short Story (Patreon)

Here's a little something different--a short Danger Zone One story (3,300 words) titled, "The Carnival" (see attached PDF file).

What I really like about writing these short stories is that they offer more time to explore the characters and slow the plot down a bit. With the weekly comic it's extremely vital to keep the momentum going page-by-page and create a more cliffhanger-style atmosphere, so this is a nice departure.

Maybe when enough of these short stories are done, I'll combine them with the 3 longer 'novels' for something like a "Tales from Pallad City" volume.
