Hi, For the first time, it has been 2 months since our last update.  We were able to do a humongous amount of core changes to the game that amount to something that behind the scenes, almost feels like a VS 1.5. We hope it feels the same to you.  

There is so much this month I heavily recommend reading through the patch notes, because you are very likely to miss some stuff otherwise.

TL;DR… there’s no fucking TL;DR I can’t TL;DR this shit this google doc is fourteen goddamn pages.

The goals with this update were:

• Standardize the format of many tasks so we could get rid of a huge amount of bad hardcoded tasks that remained in the game, to be replaced with huge amounts of these new standardized tasks composed of what we now call Interactions.
• Increase the number of tasks… by over a billion. That is the real amount of possible varieties now available with the new interactions system. We’re very satisfied by this and expect this number to keep exploding due to the next point. We’ve especially added a lot of content to toggles that were popular and had little content available.
• Make it easier to create content. Now, creating an entire category of tasks is much much easier for us to create, maintain, and expand upon. We also no longer have to worry about specific tasks not being up to your preferences, as most tasks in the game are now separately toggleable.
• Add optional specificity to most tasks in the game. We understand many of you are here to be told EXACTLY what to do, and we’ve allowed for an insane amount of that. Similarly, we’ve also made it possible to get extremely vague and simple tasks that leave it up to you to interpret as you wish.
• Make more content toggle-able and customizable. You can now customize your tasks in ways you never were able to, including selecting kinks you may only want as secondary instructions. Most tasks are toggleable through interactions.
• Significantly improve what has become the core of the game - Timed Tasks. Taking inspiration from the now-defunct RLGL, we’ve taken what made it appealing (instruction switches, having to pay attention to the game more than elsewhere) and applied it to timed tasks. We’ve made sure that this flows well by only switching instructions to realistic instructions of the same category, never switching to different toys, and limiting their complexity based on the duration of these switches. Each timed task can now be a longer task composed of several tasks of the same category, instead of being two minutes straight of the same thing.
• Rework several kinks into a new system that effectively works as a third layer upon tasks - Urges. Urges are temporary prompts giving you an instruction that works alongside whatever task you’re currently doing. Some examples of how this applies are Speaking (now framed as saying a single thing once, with many more kinks supported, and each sentence being toggleable), Breath Play, Drooling, etc.
• Reusing this temporary prompt framework, we’ve started adding prompts that increase immersion and interaction with the Succubus. The first we’ve added is Insults, a new system that will allow the Succubus to demean you for various categories of your choice.
• We’ve added an optional metronome to nearly every applicable task called Heartbeats. Heartbeats are a new non-intrusive, optional system that allows you to make a UI element pulse at a certain rhythm during timed and counted tasks. This gives you a rhythm to match for said task, turning all tasks into metronome tasks. This is heavily customizable, with 3 different speeds that can be tweaked exactly how slow/fast you want them.

Features

Interactions

Interactions are a system akin to the old Stroking Types system, effectively allowing you to specify which ‘’parts’’ of tasks you want enabled. These keywords are also separately toggleable for both Base Tasks and Layers.

This system is also used in places to enable the toggling of simpler, single-part tasks.

Dev Note: While I previously had an issue with allowing too much customization of specific tasks, it has become obvious over the years that this limits the addition of further tasks by making it necessary for them to have wide appeal. We’ve shifted our focus to allowing as much content as possible.

Combined with layers also using interactions, this system has effectively allowed us to create over a billion potential task variants. This is the most future-proof we can ever make JOI content.

We’ve added the following interactions, with examples for each. Bolded words are the different ‘’Parts’’ of interactions you can toggle. If these seem overly complex to you, please remember that they are all separately toggleable, and I invite you to read the later section on Task Complexity, a different system we’ve created to address this potential issue.

This system is customized by going to the tweaks menu for a toggle and clicking on the new Interactions button. It is recommended you try doing this for any toggle you wish to enable.

We've also added a new menu function that creates a popup when you enable a toggle that supports interactions while having none of its interactions active. 

We've created sets of default interactions for almost every toggle, and this pop up will present you with 3 choices: Set the defaults, customize yourself (goes straight to interactions) or close the window.

This should make it easy for you to set up basic settings, if you would rather not go in-depth.

Timed Task Rework

All timed tasks involving core interactions now have a chance to be switched up throughout.

- A task will never be completely switched to a different category.

- It is weighted to lean more towards remaining similar, while also introducing the possibility of same-toggle instructions being mixed in.

- It also introduces the possibility of temporary simpler instructions.

For example,

- Stroke quickly while pulling on your balls

Can get changed to

- Stroke slowly while squeezing your balls

- Stroke quickly

- Pull on your balls

- Etc

There are 4 possible variants that can be rolled for timed tasks:

- No Switches

- Regular (Switches between various different patterns, including quick switches, medium switches, and slow switches)

- Decreasing (The time between switches decreases over time)

- Increasing (The time between switches increases over time)

- Taking inspiration from RLGL, timed tasks now also have a small chance of being switched to a pause instruction, which will always remain short to maintain the game's flow and momentum.

- Red becomes more of a ''are you paying attention?'' and teasy frustrating instruction, instead of a core part of this system. It can also be disabled with No Pausing.

A new tweak slider is also available to set a minimum time for timed tasks, meaning you won't get frequent switches.

The duration of all core task time durations has been increased to match with this system.

Dev Note: The general design intent here is to make each task feel more like a small segment of sub-tasks that are all part of the same category.

If you get for example an anal task, you'll be doing various things related to that toggle for a longer time.

This also makes the game demand more of your attention, as a switch could happen at any time. We believe this should make each task feel more like a two-way back and forth.

This system always respects chosen toys, ensuring that you won't be expected to change your toys mid-task.

For example, your ass-destroyer 9000 will remain the toy chosen throughout the entire task, even if the task itself changes.

If you are expected to use a cane for a pain task, the location may change but you will always be given a caning instruction using the same cane.

If the time to next switch is low, the system will also generally try to avoid giving you complex instructions.

Task Complexity

You can now set interaction task complexities separately per-toggle, per task type, and per base/layer.

For example, these new sliders allow you to: Have complex dick stroking instructions, but simple pain layers during timed tasks, while allowing complex pain tasks during counted tasks.

There are 4 new sliders contained in every interaction menu (Base Timed Complexity, Layer Timed Complexity, Base Counted Complexity, Layer Counted Complexity)

Complexity is now also overridden and adjusted during timed task switches, meaning you'll get simpler tasks if you're only doing them for a short time.

This system allows you to, for example, have 4 different categories of keywords for an interaction, but only get 2 at a time.

Task Layering Options

3 new toggles located in the tweaks menu of any interaction-supported toggle now allow you to tweak how they behave with layers. As a reminder, layers are the secondary part of a task (Stroke & squeeze your balls)  

Always Layer will cause this toggle to always be used as a layer, even if the toggle isn’t on at the time. This allows you to, for example, have CBT on as a layer permanently even if it’s not in every session as a primary task.

Exclusively Layer will cause this toggle to only be used as a layer.

Never Layer will prevent this toggle from ever being used as a layer.

Never Add Layer will prevent this toggle from having additional layers. An example would be if you can't do rubber-band snaps one-handed you would set that toggle as Never Add Layer.

Urges

The Urges system is a new temporary prompt that appears under your tasks throughout their duration. It can be customized in the new Urges menu under Systems.

These are optional, rewarding prompts that give additional depth to your tasks and require you to pay attention. You may also make them auto-complete (i.e. make them mandatory) by enabling a new toggle called Mind Control. Otherwise, you’ll have to tap/click on them or press spacebar on PC to activate them. They use the same background as a button would, indicating that they are in fact a button.

The current urges include:

• Breath Play
• Kegels
• Drooling

Performing drool urges can sometimes lead into a Drooly status urge, with a large penalty for refusal. While Drooly, you will no longer have drool urges temporarily until the status is over. This opens up space for other urges to appear more often.

• Speaking
• Moaning

Performing moaning urges can sometimes lead into a Vocal status urge, with a large penalty for refusal. While vocal, you will no longer have moan urges temporarily until the status is over. This opens up space for other urges to appear more often. The new Vocal status implies you should consistently make noises.

• Eye Contact

Failing to maintain eye contact, by for example interacting with other urges, will lead to a negative reaction and dedication loss.

Urges that require you to interact with them should not happen during tasks that have layers (and require you to use two hands). This is bypassed by having Mind Control enabled. There is now also a chance for that check to be bypassed. If you press an urge while you're supposed to be using two hands for a task, you can expect her to be mad.

Insults

Insults are a new immersive text prompt piggybacking off the infrastructure of Urges. Depending on the category of insults you enable, you’ll be demeaned by your succubus through various mind-invading sentences and actions conveyed by text.

The available categories so far are:

• Small Penis
• Short Height
• Overweight
• Lack of Masculinity
• Poverty
• Appearance
• CEI
• Cuck
• Promiscuity
• 4th wall (insulted for playing VS)

We intended to add more and simply ran out of time to come up with them, so we went with some of the primary categories we expected people would want.

There are two types of insults: Repeatable, and rare.

Rare insults will show up less frequently, and only so many times per session. They will not reappear until the entire pool of rare insults you have available has been used, at which point the list of used rare insults will be wiped and you may see repeats. This should take 10-20 sessions minimum.

Depending on the popularity of this system, it would also be easy to expand it to more than insults. Let us know what you think of the format!

Heartbeats

A long-requested metronome option for timed and counted tasks, heartbeats have 3 different speed categories that are triggered based on the text prompts you are given, with each speed category being customizable in a new menu with sliders.

Heartbeats affect the small heart in the divider at the bottom of your screen, giving you a rhythm to match for whatever task you’re asked to perform. This was designed to be a non-intrusive suggestion to match.

An optional sound effect is also available.

Permanent Statuses

Permanent statuses are no longer a favor request.

Each applicable tweaks menu now contains an additional toggle that will enable the appropriate status permanently for a session.

We understand that the addition of interactions means that people may want to additionally theme their sessions, and that sometimes includes more permanent accessories (for example, permanent tail plug).

Reworked Themes

Themes have been completely reworked to include all the new interactions, and are now primarily focused around layers.

To summarize the new behavior:

Whenever a layer is added to a task, there is a chance that it will become a theme if one is not already present. This will cause the next few layers that you experience to all be chosen from the same interaction type.

If the theme uses a toy, for example oral insertables or a specific pain implement like a cane, a single toy name will also be used for the duration of that theme (for those that have say 6 different things to fuck their face with)

Due to this significant change to themes, themed sessions have been removed. With the rework to core kinks and toys, you may now easily theme sessions simply by exclusively enabling one type of toggle for layers.

Content (The most content addition VS has ever had.)

• See the ‘’Interactions’’ feature description for a long list of additions to toggles.
• Added a new tweak to every toggle with an interaction called Use as Reward. This causes generic rewards and things like smothering to use these interactions as a reward.
• ''To the rhythm of her X'' rewards now also use reward interactions instead of just stroking. Speed interaction flags will not be used for these instructions.
• Added vaginal difficulty progression.
• Sleeve toy has been re-added as a core pleasure toy. These interactions have a special behavior associated with them, where upon being used, will force all Penis Stimulation tasks to become Sleeve Toy tasks for an amount of tasks. Upon completing this segment, a cooldown will begin on the use of your sleeve toy, meaning that assuming you have both Penis Stimulation and Sleeve Toy on, you will get alternating segments of mostly using one or the other. If you only have one on, they will behave normally as you would expect any interaction to.
• Anal & Vaginal Insertables have been split into multiple categories: Small, Medium, Large, Vibrating, Knotted
• Plugs have been split into multiple categories: Small, Large, Vibrating
• Added 2 new tweak toggles that only allow plug interactions to be given under certain conditions (While plugged or not plugged, depending. Enabling both will disable interactions altogether while retaining their status.)
• Multiple penetration is now its own menu to enable the simultaneous appearance of various base and layer interactions (i.e. you can now enable Simultaneous Anal & Oral to allow tasks to give you an anal base with an oral layer)
• Service Acts toggle has been replaced with many new interactions: Blowjob, Cunnilingus, Handjob, Titjob, Thighjob, Assjob, Pitjob, Footjob, Pussyjob
• Most service act interactions also require either the new Service Toy or Service Sleeve to be enabled.
• Note: Oral & Oral Insertable are now Blowjob and use Service Toy as a requirement.
• Added the following toggles for speaking and writing: Self-Degradation, Worship, Begging, Apology, Self-Affirmation, Lust, Appreciation
• Added Puppy-speak, Kitty-speak, and Pig-speak as urge toggles under speaking. This re-themes the speaking prompts for pet-play.

Balance

• Slowed down difficulty progression speed to make the prompts less intrusive. Please let me know if you feel like it's too slow and taunt does not accommodate your needs.

Polish & Misc

• Added more ? descriptions in the menus.
• The preparation step on many timed tasks now functions differently.
• Reworked how timed tasks are initially presented before they are started.
• Tweak menus now only show the applicable tweaks for that toggle.
• Modified the button visuals to match the main menu.
• Updated endings to support the new interaction tags
• Updated rhythm to support the new interaction tags
• Added ''No Difficulty Progression'' tweak toggle.
• Added buttons in the interactions menu that turn on/off all the interactions for either base or layer.
• The player sex selections during startup now set some default strings and settings per-sex (for example, penis stimulation when selecting penis)
• You can now hold the Kinks and Toys tab in contract terms to fully wipe your kinks and toys.
• Added a new toggle under Tweaks that re-enables the degrading favor names that were available prior to the changes to degradation.
• Added a new favor-adding code "02142023" as compensation for the Valentine's Day session not having free favor requests due to a bug. The code is entered on the passcode screen.
• Removed the timed check on counted tasks as it no longer correctly applies to the wide variety of interactions possible within each task.
• Added clarification text when you do not earn favor as a result of low devotion. It now specifies you should spend your favor or raise your devotion to increase your limit.
• Rhythm selections now also checks appropriate toys and kinks.
• When importing a save string, the game will now correctly notify you that it has to be updated for the most recent version, then restart the game so that it gets done before you complete a session.
• Empty bladder status can now be manually removed by the user at no mood cost (it's now a positive status)
• Deals should no longer be affected by UI fadeout.

Bugfixes

• Various minor bugfixes and typo fixes.
• Fixed ASMR+Fog looking odd
• When in timed chastity, the menu overlay should no longer incorrectly display sessions instead of days.
• Fixed several instances of pleasure instructions or edging being given with No Touching on.
