I agreed with your stance on Vessi vs Yoonji and thought the win went to the right crew but I wanted to offer some insight into voguing. The move Vessi repeated three times was called a “dip” and her frequent use of it wasn’t due to a lack of creativity. Typically in the ballroom scene performances are usually less than a minute, and you can expect to see at least two to three dips in it. This helps hype up the crowd and encourages the audience to interact with the performer! I get how it can be seen as repetitive and I still agree with your perspective. I just wanted to offer some of the knowledge I have on the dance and the culture because it is similar to wacking in the way that the more you know about it the more you can appreciate it!

So because I recently went back to to watch season 1 for the first time after seeing season 2, I can confidently say t this season is much better in comparison. Idk if I would say it’s not as big as season 1. In terms of popularity numbers like votes and views I think season 2 blow season 1 out of the water. In terms of the level of dance ability, tbh aside from prowdmon, idk if any of S1 crew could beat the lowest ranking crews in season 2. In every level from the numbers, the level of world class dancer, judges, difficulty of each performances, season 2 is far better. Of course that can only happen bc season 1 went so well so I’m a 1000% in love with all season 1 crews. However, objectively speaking, I was a little let down by the difficulty level and scale of the performance and dancing when I got introduced to the franchise by season 2 and then went back to watch season 1. It was still so amazing and fun. However, S1 felt like a group of great dancers with some seasoned reputable dance legends mixed with good but newer crews and dancers. (Which makes sense since it was a brand new show no one knows how it will go. So they probably can’t recruit so many top of the industry crews). Whereas as season 2 truly felt like the best of the bests in the industry have gathered. Wackxxy was the legendary guest dancer for one of the S1 crew mega crew performance and that was a big deal for them. Now in S2, she’s one of the many standout dancers of the season. Also, I do love the Season 2 gives screentime to a lot of crew members and not just the leaders. They really took it to a new height with S2 and I’m so glad. S1 walk so S2 can run honestly. I hope next season, they’ll get more international crews and even bigger names as well as crews with legends in the battler scene like wolf lo. My favorite part is discovering this whole world of incredible battlers doing moves I’ve never even thought of before.

I love this season SOO MUCH! I tried watching season 1, but I never could make it through the 2nd episode. But I just loved all the crews and dancers this season. I am so glad we have Manequeen because they are so good. I honestly feel they have been underappreciated and they probably lost their energy from all the hate they were getting after the earlier eps. I am so excited for the final! Thank you Jeff for this!

I can’t wait to see Mannequeen to dance to Lady Gaga I was hoping they will chose her cuz I know they will slay it so hard but sadly I also think they will not win sadly even tho I wish to because every their performance is mesmerizing to watch for me… I look forward to every final performance tbh cuz I love every 4 groups that get to the finale so I actually don’t mind any of them being winner🫶🏻

I never thought a dance competition show would make me cry this much. Bebe has been my no 1 from the beginning but I was hoping the plot twist was that no one was getting eliminated. SWF 2 introduced me to and helped me fall in love with Wolf Lo and Lady Bounce as dancers and as just lovable people

I love that after the drama and bravado of the first 2-3 episodes, the crews didn’t give Mnet’s editing team much to work with. Competition aside, the energy was just women supporting women dancer supporting other dancers. And everyone fan-girling over each other. Especially Harimu and Yenia, Yenia kept hearts w/ her hands at Bada during the Battle mission 🤣
