And here we are! What a journey wow. Thanks again to everyone who suggested this drama to me. I feel like the characters and their stories have become such a part of my life now, marking this point of my life. They have affected me so much in such a way that I will never be able to explain. This drama also reminded me so much of why I became an actor in the first place and I can only hope to one day be able to be a part of such an amazing show :)

Next up we have Rowoon's new kdrama 'Destined With You'. As usual, I will check out the first couple of eps first and see if I want to continue with it :)

the finale has traumatized many viewers around the world 😂 but for real this kdrama was the best that year, and its easily my top 3 favourite kdramas of all time. i initially watched this for kim taeri as she’s a well known talented actress and it did not disappoint! she’s starring in a new kdrama soon which i’m so excited about. i could understand all of the logical reasons of why their relationship wouldn’t work, but its just sad nonetheless because their love was so beautiful 🥲🩷 idk if you know this, but during the scene of yijin intervieweing heedo virtually, the actor nam joo hyuk was caught in the feels and teared up after congratulating heedo for her wedding, and said that he wished he could actually see taeri on screen as he’s saying this. i’ve also seen a lot of people visiting those sites, heedo’s house and the tunnel especially, brings back all the feels. super glad you love the show!

it was not a "happy ending" but a realistic one, life is like that , we all have that moment when we thoughy everything is forever when in reality everything is just passing, a memory, an experience . something to smile and cry about when you remember it .

Brissett

Obviously it was kinda sad, bcuz we were so involved in their relationship that we know was something beyond love. But was something we knew in a way since he was not part of her "present"... I think that yes it can be easy to show a Happy ending considering the sutuation but they were not complacient with the viewers, they give us something raw, realistic. There are people that comes to our life to light it up, and left a mark, but in some cases life would not let us have those people forever, but that doesnt mean that bcuz of that is not beautiful. Such an amazing drama.

This is my opinion on your commentary after episode 15: (1) On Yijin being sent to NY and if there's any alternatives to that, I don't think it's also realistic to hire someone new instead of getting someone from their company in Korea to be an additional correspondent since all of them have their plates full because of the event. I think the latter's more ideal because it's the same company and they need immediate additional person as a correspondent. I don't think they only have Yijin as their correspondent there. Since it's a major event, they really needed more people to cover the news in different areas (hospital, scene of the event, house to house, white house, etc.) and that's why I think it makes sense for me to have him sent there. (2) On Yijin and how important his job is, I believe they've done a good build up on why since we know from previous episodes what had happened with his family and how he's just a high school graduate. I think it's a major factor as to why he couldn't let go of his job. He wanted his family back together and escaping from his job might not be the best option for him considering his educational background, that's why he's still there even if he's miserable. Hopefully this helps in some way. :)

When I watched this when it aired I felt so empty inside after it ended, and I was upset even though I knew why they did what they did (the writers), I get the storytelling and all that. I ended up rewatching it with you here and even tho I'm another year wiser and older since I last watched this ended. I'm still upset hahahah

I understand that they went for a more realistic ending on this, but I literally watch drama to escape reality so why give me this kind of ending 😭 Such a great drama, love the characters, eventhough I'm sad about the ending it's still a good one. They all did great. Kudos to the team! ❤ My thoughts when I first watched this: If they can make a happy ending for some mythical creatures and a human being in a drama, why can't a reporter and an athlete have one too 🥲

Great reaction all throughout, one of the best indeed! If you haven't watched yet and want another recommendation, Reply 1988 falls under the same genre and is one of the best to pull off the slice-of-life kind of Kdrama. I'm sure you'll like it and will find it a great series to react to.

I would like to second that! Reply 1988 was definitely the warmest drama I have ever watched

Rewatching this with you for the 5th time and became cry baby every time 😭 I actually really like the ending, it’s unconventional and at the same time so realistic - maybe that’s why it had such a huge impact because I think we can all understand what both of them were going through and why it’s not gonna work out. The biggest thing about this drama for me is the “youth” and the friendship, and the beautiful memories that you can only have at that age. Just like the main character said: those memories were very short, but enough to light up a person’s whole life (I’m bawling even when typing this 🥹). It’s nostalgic and bittersweet… Thanks Jeff for reacting to this - i’d be up to rewatch this over and over. Next recommendation from me would be Mr. Sunshine - top tier drama starring this actress!

Mr. Sunshine is GOLD 🥹 it had such a big impact on me and has always been top 1 of my drama list

I think Yijins choices are very realistic considering his circumstances. His family went bankrupted during the IMF crisis and they lost everything. We all know how hard it was for Yijin to get a proper job since he dropped out of college/uni and therefore is only a high school graduate. And even when he was hired as a reporter ppl kept making remarks/ “praising” him how well he was doing when hes only a high school graduate which imo really felt like back handed compliments. Hes made the sacrifice of changing departments but what else can he do? I agree that there must have been other reporters that could have been dispatched but the chances just so happen to land on him and its not like he can go against UBS’ decisions especially since it was an urgent matter. For me Yijin’s character felt like he had to prove himself not only to everyone else around him but especially to himself. No matter how much he was going through at work or how much he loves Heedo. It does not surprise me that he chose hes career over everything else. THOUGH 100% there should have been more communication

so glad you enjoyed this (i mean i knew you would lol) i think these might have also been one of the best reaction videos i've seen from you! i had already seen the drama but still kept waiting for your reactions every week haha i might be in the minority here but i really liked the ending since i felt like it wasn't too obvious or predictable. one of my favorite kdramas for sure maybe even my second favorite one ever (mr sunshine will forever have the no 1 place i'm afraid nothing is ever beating that for me) looking forward to destined with you! will definitely be watching!! :))

Watching this with you has been such a great experience, thank you Jeff <3 This show has brought me so many tears, but most of all laughs and admiration for these amazing actors. Throughout the episodes I found myself thinking about my own life in a more meaningful way, especially about the little moments of happiness that we sometimes take for granted. Much love and can't wait to watch another series alongside you.

Thanks Jeff for putting things in perspective for my mind to handle my heartbreak. It's been a year but watching your reaction video has helped with reality. I can apply it to Mr. Sunshine. Also, I'm so happy to watch your awesome, heartfelt reactions to EXO and their amazing voices. You are quite educational and absolutely adorable!!! I'm going to see "The Moon" tomorrow so I hope you do a reaction video because it's Doh Kyung-soo (100 Days My Prince helped me find EXO to exercise to)

My heart still hurts even a year later after this show ended lol. Like the disbelief I was in at the end of ep 14 when yijin said "congratulations on your wedding" 😭 those words will forever haunt me lol. I took away so much from this drama — I was reminded of my youth and being dumb & rebellious, a first love that never worked out, fighting with my parents, going to school and hanging out with friends. Cherish all those memories because life doesn't have a go back button. The ending was heart shattering but bittersweet as well. They both loved each other, supported one another in their lowests, became lovers and unfortunately it didn't work out. And that's okay. That's literally life 😢 still couldn't help but cry though. We all went on their journey and could feel/see how beautiful it was. It's one of my favorite love stories. I haven't seen anyone mention it but this drama is based off of a song "Twenty five twenty one" by Jaurim, a Korean rock band. The main vocalist wrote this song about her lover who passed away due to overwork. Some of the lyrics are directly correlated to this show: "That day, the sea was very warm It still seems as if you're grabbing my hand In the shining sunlight, there was you and me My heart ached with happiness in this dream Ooh, your scent It's coming in the wind Ooh, I thought it would last forever Twenty-five, twenty-one" It played only twice in this kdrama: during the water fountain scene on episode 2, and the end of episode 15 when they mentioned their ages (25 & 21). The beginning and end of their love story 😭 Thank you sm for this reaction Jeff! Can't wait for destined with you.

I put off watching this drama because I heard of the ending and was scared rl feel empty but I’m glad I got to watch it when you did! It was good watching and hearing your thoughts along with everyone, making the experience better. I was really invested in everyone’s stories and it’s sad to see Heedo and Yijin’s ending

I definitely think they could have made it work had he communicated. People i'm supposed to be sharing my life with, not consulting in me for whatever reason when making important decisions is one of my biggest pet peeves. Nothing feels lonelier than having someone you considered at every point in life not prioritise you in the same way and step away from you all on their own. If you really care about being with someone you should be able to communicate that and act accordingly. Find solutions WITH your partner, and even if you tried everything and it still ends up not working out, you at least came to that conclusion together and you can come to terms with it slowly and end things being at peace. So yeah, i hated the way yijin acted in these last two episodes. Considering that he's older you'd expect him to be the mature one but that wasn't the case in this instance. Guess age really is just a number to an extent.
