my 1 pick is Gunwook. he was in wild idol before and he already proved himself that he can sing, dance, rap. boys planet was a stepping stone to his debut because his growth is insane. he’s even a lyricist now. hes so talented.

My one pick is Yoon JongWoo. People might hate me for this (they certainly did over on Reddit ;) ) but I think Over Me made a mistake voting him out. If you've watched any of his pre-show dance vids you know he'd slay the sensual concept.....so maybe that's the point that the others were worried he'd take away some of their spot light. But if they wanted the strongest team he would've been a better choice. I found Jeong Hyeon, although good, unmemorable. He does not stand out to me, especially when he's up against Hao for capturing attention. I finished the vid and couldn't even remember if they kept his rap part because I was focused on the other members. Jongwoo is great at sing/talk rap, and an amazing strong but sexy dancer.

I am so frustrated about the Over Me storyline because it just continued the erasure of Kuanjui. Like, I was already pissed off with them not showing Kuanjui's musical section, since he was the only All Star that wasn't shown AND I am so curious how he got the All Star by playing the Prince when his partner Taerae did not get the same ranking. THEN, you have such an easy and obvious storyline for Over Me, since Zhang Hao and Kuanjui worked together to choreograph the pair dance (confirmed by both of them to the audience for the third mission, they are credited for choreography in the title card, and the original choreographer Bengal Park posted the original choreo which shows that the Killing Part had a solo dance break). So, you've got a perfect storyline here - you have the bit of Haojui tension with Kuanjui being anxious about his screentime, Hao struggling with how to highlight each member + juggling suggestions, and then they resolve it by working together to create a pair choreography which, IMO, is one of the standouts of the performance? And they ignored it completely???? Like, I am Zhang Hao biased, I admit that. I think it was fair to show him struggling a bit with being more decisive, but at the same time, he did make all of the members shine and the pair choreography was an integral part of that??? I'm also very fond of Kuanjui so seeing how he was completely shafted this episode was heartbreaking. You could visibly see how desperate he was to get the benefit, because he knows it was his only chance of survival. To see him be ignored even after all of that was absolutely depressing.

Although I'm sad I'm not even mad that JAY got the last place because everyone in Over Me Team did so well but he definitely deserved higher score than that! I agree with you like atleast 600pts would do I can't believe these audiences! The latter part of the song made it for me and JAY literally did almost all the adlibs there! He basically carried the song imo. and we can see the other trainees shocked reactions when he got his scores they look disappointed as well. When JAY said that he already expected it because no one cheered for him that made me soooo sad 😞 (PS I'm still pissed with Mnet for cutting him out of the frame while he's doing his high note. Thats literally one of the highlights of the song! Fortunately they changed it on the uploaded full ver in YT and they included him.) Also, that partner dance of Zhang Hao and Chen Kuan Jui was supposedly a solo dance break for the center (Zhang Hao) but they changed the choreo. Zhang Hao really helped all his members to shine. He's a great leader!

Ricky killed it in ‘Over Me’ ! Even before the show started he had this aura that fits those type of concept so much, the way he presents himself, the rnb vibes, I’m really glad we managed to vote him into this song ! I can’t stop replaying his fancam haha.

This is just a thought that's been nagging at me - am I the only one who thinks the Switch choreo looks like it was made for 7 people? I just feel like some of the transitions and positionings look awkwardly spaced when there's 6 of them. This isn't any criticism against the guys - they did great - but just a feeling I've been getting from watching the choreo itself

My one pick would either be JAY or WANG ZI HAO! 💗 JAY is an amazing vocalist. He's definitely a a great main vocalist material. He's a decent dancer. He's just a slow learner but he's actually good and has nice groove. I love the texture and tone of his voice. My fave actually! 💗 WANG ZI HAO is undoubtedly the best dancer on this show. He can also sing and rap. He's an ACE. Just sad that he's not given a proper screentime. He's actually so captivating! and Idk if it's just me but he sometimes reminds me of JENO (NCT)! 💚

I think this episode was so fun! Definitely much better pacing, and overall less (but still noticeable) manipulative editing going on. I'll definitely be streaming all of the songs on Spotify, lmao, they're all BOPS! As for my one pick, I think I'll be rotating too. While I want Sung Hanbin and Zhang Hao on the final line-up as much as anyone, I *think* I don't need to vote for either of them, knowing how big their respective fanbases are. I honestly might rotate between Haruto, Seunghwan, Park Hanbin, Keita, Junhyeon, Zi Hao, and Gunwook. I know I should probably stick to just a few of them to rotate between, but I love all of them so much 😭 If I could only vote for definitely just ONE of them though, it has to be Haruto. King of perseverance, and we need a representative of girlypop in the final line-up 😭

about the duo part of over me stage, according to the instagram story by the choreographer, it was originally one member dance (killing part), but i think zhanghao and guanjui changed that into a pair duo (which was sooooo BEAUTIFULLY EXECUTED). the beginning card of this song also wrote zhanghao and guanjui names on the "participation in choreo" part.

I started watching boys planet from seeing jays vocals on TikTok (sad to see the amount of false accusations he gets). I stayed because i fell in love with Matthew and i honestly thought he would be my one pick but again because of his vocals Jays going to be my one pick!

Everyone is free to do whatever they want, but just a friendly reminder that no one is really safe until their name is called in the final! Especially for the top ranked contestants - they've had a lot of filler votes so far so we can't actually gauge their OP bases. In particular, I've seen a very popular voting strategy be Shanbin + Hao + their actual pick, so their current votes will be very inflated. Maybe I'm too traumatised by Yurina and JR not making it in their respective seasons lol, and Sunoo somehow dropping from 1st to 8th (thank god for the producers pick). Historically the most popular contestants suffer the biggest drops in the final because everyone thinks they're safe 😭 My motto is 'the second you drop your one pick is the second they drop out of the top ranks' and that's how I deal with any potential guilt lol.

This entire episode made me mad. The way Jay was treated was horrible, but what can I expect from MNET. 🙄 I was looking forward to “Over Me” the entire week. The performance was ruined because MNET did not even focus on Jay during his high note….

Same!! Today, Mnet just released reaction videos of the trainees for all the performances and the trainees were all praising JAY the entire time and not even a single reaction was aired on the actual episode! This also explains why they're all genuinely shocked after Mnet revealed his low score. 😞

i agree with you on the taerae correction scene! like it rubbed me the wrong way when youngjun master was correcting taerae to slide in without actually telling him the type of slide he was looking for in the first place🙄. Like its obvious and even mentioned by YJ that taerae doesnt catch choreo fast so...why wldnt he show taerae how to do it...and expect taerae to just magically know what hes looking for...

I totally agree with you that nobody is safe. I completely understand the temptation to vote for your no 2 if Shanbin or Hao is your no.1. It's because it's so tempting that its so dangerous because a lot of people are probably feeling the same way.

I have a theory why the scores were so much lower this round. Its the second time they've used the same scoring system so people have had a chance to get wise to it. You can upvote or downvote each member and I'm guessing your final score is the upvotes minus the downvotes. If the most important thing to you is that a certain member ranks first to get the benefit then it makes sense to downvote all the other members. Same applies to the team votes assuming that works the same way. You don't need that many people doing that to significantly reduce the scores.

Regarding Shuaibo's situation, idk if this was already mentioned to you by someone else during the episode it happened. But its said that someone who works around cjemn found out that, that clip of him "supposedly talking shit about Woonggi behind his back" was a clip that was taken out of context yet again by mnet's evil editing which was that, apparently the staff have not been treating the chinese trainees well by not translating alot of whats going on, leaving them clueless, so though in that clip that was aired in the episode, (as someone who's a native chinese speaker i wont completely defend Shuaibo and say that what he did wasnt wrong), like he definitely said those things, BUT it was never clarified WHO he was talking about, so im guessing he was complaining about how the staff havent been translating things to them and leaving it hard for them to communicate and understand what was going on. But because he was speaking out about the poor treatment, the staff were unhappy with that, therefore leading to the major evil editing of their already tense situation. Though its been proven that the cjemn person was a real staff and n not just some troll who was blindly defending Shuaibo, you can still take everything with a grain of salt since its the internet, like Shuaibo should definitely have had a better attitude when it came to actually trying to put in effort into the stage, he was at fault as well, claiming that Feel Special was his favourite song, yet not knowing what it means😭 but i just think that the situation was definitely blown out of proportion which led to alot of people just being opening xenophobic towards him and it had come to a point where its genuinely concerning because, people are saying that during the actual recording, there were people in the crowd yelling racist/xenophobic slurs to Shuaibo whilst he was on stage, and also sending him r*pe & d**th threats its a genuine safety hazard now...

i just wanted to clear the situation because it still seems like you have some ill feelings towards Shuaibo's "supposed treatment' towards Woonggi but its been a known fact that mnet doesnt favour chinese trainees. So far many of the evil edits have been of chinese trainees, it can be the major things like what happened with krystian or shuaibo or even little tidbits like kuanrui, they've been consistently cutting his screentime, even in this episode, there were a total of 5 trainees who did well for the little prince musical segment, but kuanrui was the only trainee out of the five that didnt get his part shown...its these little things that rub me the wrong way about mnet's treatment and favouritism towards K and G group...

Could someone enlighten me on the timing for the voting? So for example I only got to see Jay perform on Friday 7th when the subs were at 100% around midday. If I’m seeing this correctly voting ends at 10am KST which would be 1am GMT on the 7th. Now, I know I would vote Jay so I could do it before then, but let’s say someone is unsure and would only vote after seeing his performance, wouldn’t that make it impossible to do for the English speaking countries? Please let me know if I’m wrong as I’m just trying to understand how it works 😊

If you want to watch the performances before voting, I believe they post the performances after the live show on YouTube. What I do is watch the live episode with the live captions so that I can watch the performances before the voting ends. The captions aren’t perfect, but they’re good enough to understand —people put links of the live show with the live eng sub on Twitter right after the live for people who are not able to watch it during the actual time slot of the show, but want to watch it while waiting for more accurate eng sub and/or before voting closes. Side note: voting takes place everyday (during voting periods), just mentioning it in case you don’t know.

My one pick will definitely be JAY, so I was actually really looking forward to this episode but was so disappointed on how they treated Jay , like no screen time and even with his Adlibs that were amazing they focus on the other trainees dancing instead when with all the other stages their was a reaction to the high notes and not only that the only comment about their performances from the judges was they making fun of him…. Wth. I’m glad that at least I’m the full cam on yt they show him more including his high note

My one pick is Wang Zihao. If he makes it this round, I can see him bahiyyih-ing his way into the top 9, so I think mnet is trying to prevent that. And what I mean bahiyyih-ing is like how hiyyih kept ranking relatively high but never in the top 9 because only her fans were voting for her and general viewers weren't but because she was never a filler vote, her one pick caused her to make it into the top 9 in the finals even though she never entered it before. SO I really hope Wang Zihao just makes into into the finals.

1:53:52 Yes, that's correct. The singing parts cannot be changed or re-distributed like what Jongwoo said. However, the dance parts can be changed. They did it with Supercharger as well. From what I've heard, Zihao actually re-choreographed some of the parts to better fit the members but ofc Mnet did not show it on the broadcast 😞 Disappointed but not surprised.

My one pick is Taerae. He is a singer-songwriter who wants to become to idol, He is so charming, and a good vocalist, but I am afraid of his one pick in the final, until this round you can voted for 3 trainees and I know several fans who did not have him as a one pick voted for him, so he has a lot of filler votes. His international fandom is very small, if we compare him with trainees like Jay, Hui, Gunwook, Ricky or Keita (who have ranks that endanger Taerae's position) I don't want to trust his Korean fandom either, because on certain Koreans portals like dc inside/ nate /pann. Taerae gets hate because they don't like his visuals, his vocal color is too old and he's not that skilled at dancing, He is occasionally called a landmine. In girls planet,Myah in the final she obtained the 4th highest vote of Korean votes, but because her international votes were low she did not debut, the same thing happened to the girl who was ranked 10th, she had the 6th highest Korean votes, but because of her Low international votes, she didn't debut, Also her low rank because mnet revealed during the final who were competing for the 9th place, that made the fans vote for those people and they managed to debut and made that girl's rank go down. In the final, votes are worth much more, even 7 times more, so it would be good if you have a one pick that you want to debut that you watch the final live and vote for him in the live show. That's why I'm worried about Taerae's situation, he doesn't have enough international one pick votes, I'm afraid he won't debut, the company he's in was supposed to debut their trainees but in the end they canceled the debut and sent them to boysplanet, even one of the trainees from the same taerae company that participated in boysplanet and that it was already eliminated, he already left the company. That company is not going to debut them, I don't know what taerae will do if he doesn't debut on boysplanet. He deserve debut

So for the Over Me performance the dance break was originally a solo part meant only for the Killing Part member but Zhang Hao shared it with all the others. It's so sad that wasn't mentioned on the episode because I think it would've really shown just how well he did as a leader. Zhang Hao and Kuan Jui choreographed their duo dance part themselves (you can see their names in the credits at the start of the performance) with Hanbin helping them for the tutting part.

My 1pick will be Ricky or Jay when the final voting starts. My fixed picks are SungHanBin, Matthew, ZhangHao, Ricky, Jay. I think Jay and Ricky are not sure in the final debut team. The other 3s are always in the top 9. That's why I will vote Ricky and Jay. I also worried about Matthew coz of mnet editing ep 9, 10 🙂. I hope my top 5 make it to debut team( Hanbin, Matthew, Jay, Ricky, Hao). Another funny thing... I want a lot of G trainees in the debut team because of Mnet. Msnake not want a lof of G trainees in the debut. I want Msnake 🐍sad🤣🤣. There are also same stories in previous Girls planet. A lot G trainees are very popular and talented. But Mnet did evil editing to some strong characters, not gave screen time to some talented trainees, especially Chinese girls. at the final, there are only 3 G girls on the debut 😒. Here, there are a lot of talented trainees in K and G. But I hope mnet do fair to all of trainees. What Mnet did in ep 9,10. They cut Jay vocals, did selfish story to Matthew, KuanJui, not give screen time to Hiroto, wangzihao ... 😒😒😒. If Mnet dont want to give screen time to G trainees, I'm okay. But dont do evil edit. ♥️♥️ all of these kids came to Korea for their dreams. They need love, not hate or attack. Sry for my long comments. Also is 1st time commenting here 😅. JAY NEEDS TO BE MAIN VOCAL OF THE DEBUT GROUP. i was looking forward for Jeff to seeing how freaking talented Jjay's vocals were in this performance, BUT MNETS STUPIDITY, barely even showed him during his high parts and ad libs and during this episode which was such an idiotic move. AND HIS SCORE HAD MY JAW DROPPED, HE DESERVED SO MUCH BETTER!! I can't wait for u to see the Over Me dance practice Jeff, it's AMZING AMAZING AMZING!!!

I'm with on you on Say My Name. I just fell in love with the song! I downloaded it as soon as it came out. And Key saying the performance reminded him of their old days reminded me of their Replay and Juliette performances during SHINee's early days. Can't wait for the finale. Oh and my one pick will always be Sung Hanbin!

I think my first pick would be Jay if I could only choose one. I just feel like he really gets overlooked but his voice is so beautiful and he has such a sweet personality. There are many people though that are amazing on this show so really hard to pick. Watching key here as an MC really makes me want SHINee to be mentors!!! I would love to see them come in as producers or mentors on a show because I think all of them have so much knowledge to share and I think they would be really good at it!

Maybe I’m way off base here, but I have a feeling that mnet only shows last places when they either don’t care about the trainee, or they want their ranking to go down. We don’t know who placed last in Say My Name, but they made sure to let us know Jay and ShuaiBo were downvoted by the crowd lol

Haruto, Jongwoo and Jay are my top 3... I really don't know what I'm gonna do when I need to choose my one pick for next voting. I want them all in the final 9 and that's definitely not gonna happen. ☹️ and little rant on Jay... it's kinda clear mnet don't want him in the final group. They cut away from his one big moment in Over Me (the high note). You know it it were a trainee they wanted there would be 50 replays of the high note and 50 different reaction cuts... (LMR moment anyone? maybe they wanted him back then and then changed their mind...) like I'm so salty, he did so amazing. I heard on twt that live audience had a hard time hearing his adlibs so that's probably a factor but also seeing him talk about having not a lot of people cheering for him was... 😭

personally i think the criticism they gave to zhang hao as a leader was unfair, the first 7 days he was not the leader (it was jongwoo) so it’s unfair he got criticised for the lack of training the details after 7 days imo. he had little time to practice formation after the group halved ( i don’t understand about the set formations either tbh) and he was taking in everyone’s ideas - i honestly think if the interim evaluation was later on their formation problem would be solved.

1 pick is hui! it got cut from the episode but en garde got a crazy amount of encore cheers. there's a reason why every round the performance that gets the best on-site reactions is whichever team hui is the leader for! the people who watch them live always agree that no one comes close to his level vocally, not to mention he's a good dancer, producer, vocal director, leader, and all the trainees really like him too. having him in the final team would definitely elevate the quality of their live stages tenfold.

I find the decision to split the performances into two episodes unfair. There are only 5 so they can realistically fit them into 1 episode. In gp999 they actually fit all the performances into one episode so it is possible for mnet to do it.

Hi Jeff - regarding the changing of the formations for the Over Me team. One of the rules for this round was that the contestants had to create choreography and take part in re-arranging and producing the song (they announced that in episode 8). They weren't allowed to change the line distribution - which was what Ma Jing Xiang wanted - but as long as they respected that they could make changes to their parts and had to make changes to the choreography. That's why Wumuti was creating the dance break for Switch before he got eliminated and why the rapper from the Over Me team changed a section of his part into a rap that he wrote himself. That's also where the Dance Master's criticism of the En Garde team was coming from last week. He didn't think they'd messed anything up. He was upset because they'd had a week to practice and were clearly not struggling to learn the dance (since they did it fine in the practice) but despite those advantages hadn't created their own choreography. That's why he asked Junhyeon if he'd created any of his own gestures and then said "It's been a week" when he said he'd just copied the original - they hadn't done an important part of the assignment even though they had a lot of time (compared to the Switch and Super Charger teams).

I am one of those people that just joined since your dance practice reaction. Hi, hehee. Anyway, I am a Zhang Hao fan so I also have a lot to explain to your reaction/point about him being the leader. I do agree with your opinions and appreciate your consideration on how it could easily be edited on mnet part but anyway, there’s a few things: 1. People are saying that Zhang Hao divided part of his killing part solo dance into a dual dance with Guan Rui (the platinum hair guys who was having different opinion with Jay in the edit) to give him more time to shine, because the original choreographer posted on their Instagram account the full killing part solo dance and there wasn’t a dual part. So I’m guessing they have to change some formation due to this. About why are they allowed to split the part when it’s supposed to be fixed, I also have no idea. 2. I do agree about if they have a full week, details should be there already. But I just want to point out that the whole previous week that they practiced, the leader for the group wasn’t Zhang Hao. He only became a leader for short amount of time after the previous leader left the group (which like you said just could have been off by 1 person). This is what people forgot because of the way Mnet edit the whole thing and blame that whole week of practice on Zhang Hao’s leadership. And this also the only song out of 5 songs that involve prop (the ribbon) in the choreography which I think would make it a little more difficult to get the details right. 3. I also want to add that Zhang Hao mentioned in the BP press conference that he had never been a leader prior to Boys Planet. In Kill This Love, he was in the same group with Keita who has good leadership. And in Tomboy, he was in a group with Sung Hanbin (another one with great leadership) and Hui who is very experienced. In this Over Me, majority of the member are very young and not having a lot of experience + Zhang Hao was just became a new leader when he and the group was used to practice under another leader => which makes the whole things happened. Feels free to correct me since I am Zhang Hao fan so my opinion could be biased.

So my one pick is Zhang Hao. He already has a massive fanbase so I might vote for others who I also really want to make it to the debut group too, but, I don't know... a lot of people might also think this way and it might put him at risk. The other trainees that I wanted to vote for was Seungeon and Park Hanbin. There are already trainees who for sure will debut that are good vocalists but I think Seungeon's vocals will be a great addition. A main vocal material. For Hanbin, like what you said, he'd be a great leader or performance leader and he's also reallyyyyy talented. I might probably just rotate my votes haha. GOSH I CAN'T BELIEVE THE FINALE IS IN 2 WEEKS(?) it'll be so sad to let the other trainees go. they're so talented T.T I hope they'll get to debut after this show

A similar situation happened with Sunoo during I-land where he constantly ranked very high and so during the final his fanbase thought "let's vote for others who might not be as popular" and he ended up almost not making it, had it not been for the producers picking him.

Don't rotate your one pick. I know it makes you feel good to give everyone a little something but this is how others sneak in. Pick your ride or die and stick with them! Especially if your fav is not a Korean fav because there will be live mass voting during the last episode where a lot of casual international fans might not be awake. If you spread your votes out you risk none of your favs getting in. Example, if you give 5 votes to A and 5 votes to B, but C has a dedicated one pick fanbase and he gets 10 you've just lost both your favs to C. But again just my opinion, you do what makes your heart happy. :)

My 1 pick is also Jay and it has been from the beginning and he's the only one I never moved out of my rotations in voting. To me, I think it wouldn't be surprising for him to be in the final top 9 but at the same time I wouldn't be shocked if he wasn't. He's one of the ones I feel like has a 50/50 shot at making the final group because I think there are a lot of Jay fans out there, but there are also a lot of haters too. I really hope he does make it though. Of my picks, Chen KuanJui is like my "reach" pick. I really want him in the final group, I think he's an amazing performer, entertaining to watch, and has shown to be a good leader too. Jeff always knows the ranks, I'm always impressed about how he can predict it hahaha But, talking about my one pick, I love Sung Hanbin since the first episode and it is unchangeable, however, I fell in love for many of this guys, like, at this moment, I'm in love with Park Hanbin and I really wish we have Park Gunwook in the final top 9... Also, I looove Jongwoo. There's just so many of them that I love, including the ones that already got eliminated...
