This show is breathtaking. The woman who directed it is my new favorite. The confession scene at the end of episode 9 was beautiful and I cried during it. The fact he did not that she was a girl and he only cared that he loved the king 🥺

It's actually sweet when young Rowoon gave her a name. During those times I believe it's a common thing to do (I saw similar scenes on other historical dramas ) and it was given like a present or gift to someone. Actually it was like an endearment that you give and specifically pick for someone special to you. So it's not really like he gave her that just because he doesn't like the name Dam-i. HAHA It was special for them. ❤

I was so shocked when ji-un confessed even knowing he was a man, like wow I loved it, its like he loves her as a person regardless of the gender since he fell in love with the same person again. can't to see where this goes but yeah right now is so sad :c btw did you see that SF9 is having a comeback on 11/22? Also she said herself she was named Dam-i because she was found in front of a wall or something so with those connotations of the orphanage "wall" doesn't seem like that nice of a name anyways... But I agree it's kind of like a nickname and he chose a really pretty one so it's quite sweet

ohhh i finally realized watching it a second time now that the cousin doesn't realize that the crown prince wasn't always a girl in disguise. i'm curious if that gets explored now that he knows she's dam-i and he starts wondering what happened to the actual prince. like he doesn't know there were twins, right?

I am glad you are reacting to this because The TKA’s is a stunning and beautiful drama, it is one of the best historical Kdrama in 2021. This drama has it all, great cinematography, beautiful and unpredictable storylines, good supporting casts, and natural chemistry between the 2 main leads, and that every week you can’t wait to see what happens to them. Episode 10 was heartbreaking when he gave her his resignation letter. Rowoon is a really great actor because he is able to portray so much without uttering a word.

I know I'm late, buuuut A Frozen Flower (2008) was probably the loudest movie about romantic/sexual relationship between two men, also Sonkyungwan Scandal, basically the same plot as here, and I believe there was a drama back in 90s with a gay character, so it's not like same gender relationships don't exist at all, they're unusual but not impossible
